Anthony Edwards is heading on his first-ever tour of China with Adidas Basketball, the brand announced Friday. The Believe That. Tour begins Aug. 21, with the Minnesota Timberwolves star visiting Shanghai, Chengdu, and Beijing in a weekโs time. As part of the tour, Adidas and Edwards will debut Ant Farm, a unique activation platform that brings the “Believe That.” mindset to life through immersive basketball experiences.
Kevin Hart, John Cena Team Up for Netflix’s ‘The Leading Man’
Netflix has picked up the rights to The Leading Man, a new flick starring Kevin Hart and John Cena. Written by Jon and Erich Hoeber, the action comedy is based on the comic book series from Jeremy Haun and B. Clay Moore. The film is still in early development with no release date set.
Byron Allenโs AMG Sells 10 Stations to Gray Media in $171M Deal
Byron Allenโs Allen Media Group (AMG) has agreed to sell 10 television stations to Atlanta-based Gray Media for $171 million, the company confirmed Friday. Expected to close in the fourth quarter, subject to regulatory approval, this will bring Gray into three new local TV markets: Columbus-Tupelo, Mississippi; Terre Haute, Indiana; and West Lafayette, Indiana. Gray also says the deal will boost its presence in the seven other markets “with expanded local news, local weather, and local sports programming.โ
โWeaponsโ, ‘Freakier Friday’ Top Modest Box Office Previews
It was a modest showing in this weekโs Thursday previews at the box office, with horror flick Weapons leading the charge and picking up $5.7 million across 3,000 theaters nationwide. The highly anticipated Freakier Friday sequel starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis picked up $3.1 million and is booked at 3,975 domestic cinemas for its debut weekend.
Netflix Reportedly Eyes MLB’s Home Run Derby
With ESPN‘s media deal with MLB coming to a close at the end of the 2025 season, a new report from Bloomberg suggests Netflix is looking to pick up the streaming rights for the league’s annual Home Run Derby. The platform is also seeking to acquire additional baseball programming. Netflixโs current live sports offerings include two NFL games on Christmas Day and WWEโs Monday Night Raw program. They also recently secured the exclusive rights to the FIFA Womenโs World Cup in 2027 and 2031 in the U.S. and Canada.
Rob Gronkowski to Take Over for Jimmy Johnson on ‘NFL on Fox’ Pregame Show
Following Jimmy Johnsonโs retirement in the offseason, Fox Sports announced that former tight end Rob Gronkowski will take over as a full-time analyst for the NFL on Fox pregame show. The rest of the panel, which includes Curt Menefee, Jay Glazer, and Pro Football Hall of Famers Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, and Michael Strahan, will return for the showโs 32nd season.

The Season 27 premiere of South Park registered 5.9 million viewers following its July 23 debut on Comedy Central, including three days of streaming on Paramount+ and delayed viewing. Episode 2 did even better on the network alone, attracting 838,000 viewers โ nearly double the 430,000 who tuned in for the premiereโs initial broadcast. Politics have been featured prominently in the first two episodes, with creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone mocking the Trump administration and Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.

Canadian teenager Victoria Mboko completed a dream run Thursday night, overcoming a slow start to beat Naomi Osaka 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 for her first WTA Tour title. Already at a career-high No. 85 prior to the tournament, the Wilson athlete rose 61 places in the WTA Rankings to No. 24 following the victory. In terms of prize money, Mboko began the WTA 1000 tournament in Montreal with career earnings of $458,001, but now sits at $1.2 million thanks to the $752,275 payday following her statement win.ย
Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill to Star in Warner Bros. Sibling Comedy
Kristen Wiig and Jonah Hill are set to play siblings in a new Warner Bros. flick called Cut Off, opening in theaters nationwide next summer. Per Variety, the brother-sister duo are forced to fend for themselves after their wealthy parents cut them off (hence the title). In addition to co-writing the screenplay with Ezra Woods, Hill is also directing the feature.

Cineverse and Air Bud Entertainment have launched a nationwide talent search to find the next furry friend to star as the titular character in Air Bud Returns.
