NBA Rejects Warner Bros. Broadcast Bid, Announces Deals with Disney, NBC, Amazon
Just days after its submission, the NBA has rejected Warner Bros. Discovery’s 11th-hour effort to retain a portion of the league’s broadcast rights. In an official statement, the NBA indicated that WBD’s proposal “did not match the terms of Amazon Prime Video’s offer” and, in turn, officially announced its long-term agreement with Amazon, as well as Disney and NBCUniversal, moving forward. Per the current contract, WBD’s TNT will retain the rights through the 2024-25 season. Warner Bros. released a statement Wednesday saying it will take “appropriate action” after the NBA “grossly misinterpreted” WBD’s contract rights.

The IOC announced on Tuesday that France will play host to the 2030 Winter Olympics, while Salt Lake City earned the honors for the 2034 Games. France’s selection is contingent on additional evidence that the region can support the financial burden of putting on the event. Salt Lake City will host the event for the second time after serving as the home of the 2002 Winter Olympics.

HYBE Undergoes Leadership Change, Names Jason Jaesang Lee New CEO
As part of its ongoing leadership initiative, HYBE, the entertainment company that represents superstar K-pop band BTS, has named Jason Jaesang Lee as its new CEO. Lee joined the company in 2018 and previously held titles such as Chief Strategy Officer, COO, and President of the HYBE America division. He will replace Jiwon Park, who will continue to help with HYBE’s growth strategy.
Tesla Tumbles Following Underwhelming Q2 Report
Tesla’s stock closed Wednesday down roughly 12%, the most since 2020, after its second-quarter earnings report underwhelmed. While the Elon Musk-led company did boast a 2% increase in total revenue from last year, the auto revenue fell 7% year-over-year to $19.9 billion. Meanwhile, Tesla‘s earnings per share came in below projections at 52 cents versus the expected 62 cents.
