Adidas is celebrating the decades-long influence of its Superstar sneaker with a new global campaign featuring big-name athletes, actors, and artists. Anthony Edwards, GloRilla, Missy Elliott, Jennie, Mark Gonzales, Teezo Touchdown, and Gabbriette all stunt the classic Three Stripes silhouette in the 90-second spot narrated by Samuel L. Jackson and directed by Thibaut Grevet. This is the latest campaign for Adidas’ Originals line, focusing on retro and classic designs. 

It was a successful holiday weekend for Jurassic World Rebirth, as the sci-fi flick soared to the No. 1 spot at the box office, earning $147 million domestically over five days. Adding the $171 million made internationally, the global total now exceeds $318 million — a massive win for the Jurassic Park franchise. Apple and Warner Bros.F1 The Movie fell to No. 2 with a 54% drop from its debut weekend; however, it did become Apple’s highest-grossing theatrical film ever, having generated over $293 million at the global box office thus far.

Ahead of dropping its newest album on Friday, Let God Sort Em Out, and accompanying global tour, hip-hop duo Clipse has teamed up with Carhartt WIP on a new apparel collection. Pieces include black and white graphic tees, hoodies, sweatshirts, and an OG Detroit Jacket made from black denim. Products are available for purchase at Carhartt WIP stores and online starting Thursday, but concertgoers can find limited-edition products in select cities. 

TikTok is working on a new version of its app for U.S. users ahead of an expected sale to a group of investors, per a Sunday report from The Information. Users of the short-form video app will need to download the new version to continue posting content, but the current app will remain in service until March 2026. The third and latest expansion of the ban expires Sept. 17.

Danai Gurira is back with fellow Black Panther alum Michael B. Jordan for the remake of The Thomas Crown Affair, according to The Hollywood Reporter. In addition to starring in the heist thriller, Jordan is set to direct and produce under his Outlier Society banner, which began filming this week in London. Scheduled for a March 5, 2027, release by Amazon MGM, the flick also stars Kenneth Branagh, Lily Gladstone, and Taylor Russell

Apple dropped its 500 most-streamed songs of the decade, and topping the list is “Shape of You” by Ed Sheeran. The 2017 hit won a Grammy Award for Best Pop Solo Performance and spent 12 non-consecutive weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. The second and third most-streamed hits are “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd and “God’s Plan” by Drake, who claims more songs on the list than any other artist at 27.

LeBron James, Maverick Carter, and John Legend are part of an investment group that raised $7 million for Fantasy Life, the fantasy sports and gaming platform founded by former ESPN fantasy expert Matthew Berry. The capital is expected to be used to help develop a more user-friendly app that allows for more customization for users. Also included in the group are RedBird founder Gerry Cardinale and Fortnite co-creator Donald Mustard.

Wicked director Jon M. Chu has landed his next major assignment: directing the forthcoming live-action Hot Wheels film from Mattel Studios and Warner Bros. J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot is tasked with producing, with Juel Taylor and Tony Rettenmaier partnering to pen the screenplay. Chu is also partnering with Warner Bros and Bad Robot on Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, an upcoming adaptation of the 1990 Dr. Seuss story.

Cosm is headed to Cleveland, teaming up with Bedrock and Rock Entertainment Group to bring its fifth venue to The Land. The shared reality company already has a presence in Los Angeles and Dallas and is in development on its third and fourth venues in Atlanta and Detroit. Similar to the others, the new Cosm Cleveland will feature an 87-foot-diameter LED dome-like screen to stream some of sports’ biggest events.

Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey has launched his latest project – a messaging app similar to WhatsApp that works solely on Bluetooth. Per CNBC, BitChat requires no internet, central servers, phone numbers, or emails. As people move, their devices form local Bluetooth clusters and pass messages from one mobile device to another, allowing them to communicate beyond the standard range. Dorsey says he’ll eventually add WiFi Direct to boost speed and range.
