The milestone 50th season of Saturday Night Live will close on May 17 with an episode featuring host Scarlett Johansson and musical guest Bad Bunny. The week prior, on May 10, Walton Goggins will make his hosting debut, with Arcade Fire set to perform. Quinta Brunson previously revealed that she’s returning as host for the May 3 show, while Benson Boone will make his performance debut.
Google Beats Expectations Behind Strong Search, Advertising
Google parent company Alphabet exceeded analysts’ expectations with its first-quarter report on Thursday, with revenue rising 12% year-over-year to $90.23 billion. Leading the way were the search and advertising departments, jumping 8.5% and 9.8% from the previous year, respectively, including $8.93 billion from YouTube ads alone. In the wake of the news, the company’s stock rose by more than 5% in after-hours trading at the time of this writing.
Young Thug Teams Up with Future for Lead Single of Upcoming ‘Uy Scuti’
The lead single from the forthcoming album Uy Scuti by Young Thug will feature longtime collaborator Future. Expected to release on Friday, “Money on Money” will be the rapper’s first release as the lead artist since accepting a plea deal that guaranteed his release from jail last October. The official release date for Uy Scuti has not been revealed, but merch and vinyl records are available for preorder.
Knicks-76ers to Play Preseason in Abu Dhabi; Pelicans to Australia, Knicks-Suns in China
We now know the NBA teams making the journey overseas this upcoming preseason. The New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers will play two games in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 2 and 4, while the New Orleans Pelicans will head down under and suit up against a pair of Australian teams — Melbourne United on Oct. 3 and South East Melbourne Phoenix on Oct. 5. Finally, the Brooklyn Nets and Phoenix Suns will face off in China on Oct. 10 and Oct. 12.
Usher’s ‘Rendezvous in Paris’ Concert Movie Coming to BET+ in May
BET+ and Sony Music Vision announced Thursday that beginning May 8, the concert film Usher: Rendezvous in Paris will be streamed exclusively on BET+. Directed by Anthony Mandler, the production chronicles the R&B superstar’s eight-show residency during Paris Fashion Week at La Seine Musicale back in 2023. Usher is currently performing on the European leg of his Past Present Future Tour.
Peacock Cuts Over $400M from Losses
Comcast reported first-quarter results on Thursday, and total revenue reached $29.89 billion, barely down from the $30.05 billion a year earlier. Overall profits for NBCUniversal streaming platform Peacock jumped 16% to $1.2 billion, while the company slimmed its debt to $215 million from $639 million in the year-ago period. Finally, the Studios unit capitalized on carryover success from Wicked and Nosferatu, helping EBITDA jump 22% to $298 million.

Billy McFarland, founder of the twice-failed Fyre Festival, has officially put the brand up for sale. McFarland added that his team will select the new owner based on “their ability to execute the vision of FYRE in a transparent, grand and expeditious manner.”

USWNT star Trinity Rodman leads a new campaign for Oakley, appearing in a series of black and white videos and photos. The futuristic shots confirm that the Straight Jacket 99 featuring a wraparound silhouette is returning soon.
