Dallas Mavericks sharpshooter Klay Thompson has agreed to a lifetime deal with Anta, the company announced Friday at the opening of its U.S. flagship store in Beverley Hills. Thompson first signed with Anta in 2014, and the partnership has since grown into one of basketballโs most successful signature lines. Thompson has sold more than 11 million pairs of his KT sneakers, with the newly released KT11 marking the latest chapter. With the lifetime pact, Thompson joins a rarefied group of NBA stars holding similar deals, including LeBron James and Kevin Durant with Nike, and Damian Lillard with Adidas.

As Thompson’s lifetime deal begins, his former teammate’s comes to a close as Under Armour unveils the Curry 13, Stephen Curry‘s final signature sneaker with the brand and the culmination of their long-running partnership. Launching Friday, the performance-driven shoe features a new silhouette with enhanced stability, grip, and cushioning. The debut ties into Sony Pictures Animationโs film GOAT, produced by Curry and loosely based on his own career as an underdog chasing greatness. Priced at $140, three GOAT-inspired Curry 13 colorways are available worldwide on UA’s website and select retailers.
Daniel Kaluuya Eyed for Star Role in Upcoming Sci-Fi Thriller
Daniel Kaluuya is in talks to star in Hotel Hotel Hotel Hotel, a new sci-fi thriller from Together director Michael Shanks. The film follows a man trapped in a mysterious hotel room who must rely on his own teamwork to escape, based on Shanksโ 2021 Black List script. Kaluuya recently starred in Nope (2022), directed by Jordan Peele, and will next appear in Misty Green, directed by Chris Rock.
Adidas Honors Bob Marleyโs Legacy with Jamaica Kits
Adidas has unveiled new home and away kits for the Jamaica Football Federation, created in collaboration with the Bob Marley Foundation. The shirts feature a color palette inspired by the Jamaican flag and include subtle nods to Bob Marleyโs lasting legacy, along with 3D-engineered stretch fabrics using CLIMACOOL+ technology. U.S. Inflation Cools in January, Core Hits Lowest Since 2021
U.S. inflation cooled in January, with the Consumer Price Index rising 2.4% year over year, slightly below expectations and down from the previous month, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Core inflation, which excludes food and energy, came in at 2.5% โ its lowest level since April 2021 โ matching economist forecasts. Energy prices fell 1.5% and used vehicle prices dropped 1.8%, helping offset a 6.5% jump in airline fares, while egg prices declined 7% and are down 34% from a year ago.ย

A new John Wick video game is in development from Lionsgate and Saber Interactive, featuring Keanu Reeves portraying the titular character in both voice and likeness. The untitled project is a single-player, third-person action game for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Directed by Jesus Iglesias, the game will tell an original story set during a significant period in John Wickโs life, merging well-known film characters with new additions. Chris Paul Retires From Basketball Ahead of NBA All-Star Weekend
After 21 years in the NBA, Chris Paul is officially retiring from professional basketball, he announced Friday. The 12-time All-Star and 11-time All-NBA player revealed the news on social media, saying, “It’s time for me to show up for others and in other ways.” Paul sits second in NBA history in career assists with 12,552 and was the first player to ever score 20,000 points and dish out at least 10,000 assists in a career. He is also a nine-time All-Defensive team selection, the 2006 Rookie of the Year, and a two-time Olympic gold medalist.
