LAL vs. MEM Betting Trends

  • The Lakers covered 36 times in 82 chances against the spread last season.
  • Against the spread, as underdogs of 5 points or greater, the Grizzlies went 7-3-1 last year.
  • The Lakers and their opponents combined to hit the over 47 out of 82 times last season.
  • Last year, 42 of Memphis’ 82 games hit the over.

Grizzlies vs. Lakers Prediction & Pick: NBA Playoffs Game 4

Shot-making and defense were the main contributors to the Lakers’ Game 3 win. LA shot a reliable 45.6% from the floor (41-of-90), while it also held Memphis to a dismal 37.6% shooting mark (35-of-93). The Lakers have now averaged a solid 19.0 points off turnovers per game in this series as well.

If there’s one trend worth taking note of here, it’s the fact that the Grizzlies are 0-15 on the year as a road underdog. They haven’t pulled off a single upset when away from Fiserv Forum. Morant balled out with a huge performance in Game 4, yet no other Memphis player scored more than 18 points.

The Lakers are 15-9 straight up as a home favorite this campaign and are 25-20 in 45 games played immediately after a win, too. The Grizzlies looked frazzled in Game 3 and their youth has to be taken into consideration as a result. The veteran leadership of LeBron James makes a difference for LA.

GAME 4 GRIZZLIES vs. LAKERS PREDICTION: Lakers 111, Grizzlies 106

Memphis Grizzlies vs. LA Lakers Best Bet

Following the action on Saturday, the total has now hit the under in 17 of the last 21 games between the Grizzlies and Lakers. The under has cashed in eight of LA’s last 10 matchups against a Southwest Division opponent as well. There’s a lot to like about both of those trends contiuing on Monday night.

The pace has slowed since a high-scoring Game 1 as six of the eight quarters played in Games 2 and 3 featured less than 55 total points scored. Everything is one the line in this contest, so expect offensive possessions to be drawn out as each side looks to create some kind of wide open shot.

GAME 4 LAKERS vs. GRIZZLIES BEST BET: Under 220.5 Total Points (-110)
