With so many strains of cannabis on the market, Boardroom asked some connoisseurs for their tips and tricks to finding the good stuff and avoiding anything that may produce negative effects.

Not all cannabis is created equal. From flavor profiles to smell, bud density to personal preference, there are a number of variables that influence the quality of your selected bud.
So, how can you tell when you’ve found quality cannabis? The answer varies. Boardroom asked some cannabis connoisseurs how they know if they’re buying a quality product, with answers varying from “fluffy” to “it can smell like candy” and everything in between. Through it all, Boardroom’s Gabe Oshin was able to compile some of the red and green flags to watch out for.
Green Flags: A strong fragrance, white ash, no pesticides/solvents listed in the certificate of analysis.
Red Flags: Looks/smells like hay, dry, disintegrates, really dense buds, and … anything from London.
Just as importantly, the high should be one that helps you feel focused and relaxed, not anxious and paranoid. Additionally, unwanted contaminants in cannabis can lead to headaches, nausea, or other unpleasant side effects.
Shop smart, people.
