In partnering with Adidas, Prada amplifies their recyclable Re-Nylon fabric for a high-end look at eco-friendly fashion.
On Wednesday, Prada and Adidas announced their latest collaborative capsule with an emphasis on apparel, but an overall mission set on sustainability.
The Adidas for Prada Re-Nylon Ready-to-Wear Collection leans into eco-conscious ethos established on their A+P LUNA ROSSA 21 collaboration – a sailing sneaker steered by a recycled PRIMEGREEN upper — hammering home both entities’ shared commitment to protecting the earth.
Serving as the saving grace is Prada’s Re-Nylon fabric.

First introduced in 2019, Re-Nylon is a textile made from recycled plastic waste hailing from both the oceans and textile fiber scraps. Playing off the same principles as the Three Stripes’ partnership with Parley, Prada rocks the boat by creating a fabric that can be recycled and purified indefinitely while maintaining the same standard of aesthetic and function.
While previous pairings from Prada and Adidas focused first on footwear, this 2022 drop enters the realm of ready-to-wear.
Ranging from bags to bucket hats, tracksuits to sweaters, apparel and accessories play strong supporting roles as both brands look to elevate their icons through sustainability and co-branded buzz.
Returning to home base for the German sportswear giant, the Adidas for Prada Re-Nylon launch is headlined by collaborative takes on the Adidas Forum: a performance basketball shoe from 1984 once known for its luxe use of leather.
Remade in tandem with Prada, the Forum boasts a Re-Nylon upper amplified by leather overlays and Three Stripe branding, taken over the top by removable Prada mini-pouch placement around the shoe’s signature strap. Both all-white high tops and all-black low tops are included in the capsule with the latter already worn by fashion savant A$AP Rocky.
Notably, each item from the collection is Made in Italy, further cementing the collaboration’s luxury appeal. Perhaps more importantly, this 2022 launch highlights Prada’s production shift from virgin nylon to Re-Nylon which they reportedly achieved at the end of last year.
Look for the Adidas for Prada Re-Nylon collection to launch online at both brands’ respective websites, as well as in-store at Prada boutiques on Jan. 13th.
