Adidas x Gucci: The 3 Stripes’ High Fashion Foray Continues

Last Updated: April 19, 2022
The Milan Fall/Winter 2022 Gucci Fashion Show brought out the stars, including Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, who sat front row at the unveiling of yet another larger-than-life collaboration.

This morning, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky weren’t the only pair worth paying attention to at the Exquisite Gucci Fashion show in Milan. Unveiling its all-new collection on the runway during its Fall/Winter ’22 presentation, Gucci showcased several looks from its highly anticipated collaboration with legacy sports label Adidas.

Joining forces for the first time, Gucci and Adidas Originals look to bridge the world of sporty aesthetic and high fashion heritage, combining the creative codes of both brands. The pieces are mostly sleek and color-focused, featuring those signature logos alongside co-branded menswear and womenswear.

It’s yet another larger-than-life take from Gucci’s creative director Alessandro Michele, delivering a variety of sporty silhouettes, draped down in high fashion styles with faithful nods to storied brand heritage.

The ready-to-wear collection from Michele brought out the stars, too. Most notably, the tier-one power couple of Rihanna and A$AP Rocky was in attendance and seated front row for the reveal of the Adidas collaboration.

Filling the pink, mirror-sprawled room, the Fenty mogul RiRi showed off her baby bump in a latex crop top and dragon-motif trousers, while rapper and fashion figure Rocky was by her side holding a logo-bearing Gucci briefcase.

Such a presence only added to the fanfare surrounding Gucci’s team-up with The Three Stripes.

Adidas has been teaming up with high fashion brands for years now, including its ongoing Y-3 line with Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto. More recently, Adidas teamed up with Prada last month to deliver limited-edition footwear and apparel.

And on the heels of this latest news — particulary noting the speed with which it arrived — don’t expect the next big-time Adidas collab to be too far away.
