Jayson Tatum, A’ja Wilson & Vince Carter Score NBA 2K25 Covers

Jayson Tatum may just be coming down from his championship high, but the Boston Celtics standout stays winning: Tatum will be the featured cover athlete on the standard version of NBA 2K25, the game announced Wednesday morning. He also graces the cover of the All-Star Edition, being joined by Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson. The two-time MVP will also take the solo spot on the franchise’s WNBA Edition. The iconic video game rounds out its annual drop with the Hall of Fame Edition, featuring 2024 HOF inductee Vince Carter. All versions of the game are set to release globally on Sept. 6.

Hipgnosis Songs Fund Sells For $1.6B in Blackstone Deal

A majority of Hipgnosis Songs Fund (HSF) shareholders voted Monday to sell the music catalog giant to Blackstone in a $1.6 billion deal. According to the New York Times, HSF’s controversial leader, Merck Mercuriadis, will also depart the company as part of the agreement. HSF’s portfolio is made up of some 65,000 songs, including hits by Justin Bieber, Neil Young, 50 Cent, Justin Timberlake, and many more.

Kevin Durant Teams Up with Logan Paul's Prime

Prime announced Kevin Durant as its newest partner via Instagram on Tuesday, with the Phoenix Suns star joining Aaron Judge, Patrick Mahomes, and Erling Haaland on the company’s roster. The popular sports hydration drink was founded by Logan Paul and KSI in 2022 and also boasts partnerships with sports organizations like Arsenal, the Dodgers, the Lakers, the UFC, FC Barcelona, and the WWE.

Gatorade, Uninterrupted Join Forces to Honor Players of the Year

Gatorade is partnering with LeBron James’s Uninterrupted to launch an exclusive collection in honor of Gatorade’s 12 National Players of the Year for the 2023-24 class. Dubbed “The Drop,” the two-capsule collection will include a vintage-looking Gatorade-branded track jacket and towel for $125 in one bundle, with a T-shirt, an exclusive limited-edition snapback, and a Gx bottle in the other for $100. Additionally, winners of the coveted award will be treated to a roundtable discussion that features previous honorees Karl-Anthony Towns and Paige Bueckers.

Shakira to Perform at Halftime of Copa América Final

It’s official: Shakira will be the halftime performer for this Sunday’s Copa América final at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. The Colombian-born singer is set to perform “a combination of her well-known anthems and her latest hits.” Shakira has plenty of experience performing during big sporting events, having shared the Super Bowl halftime show duties with Jennifer Lopez in 2020 and appearing on stage at three World Cups.

Pharrell & Louis Vuitton's Timberland Collab, Workwear Capsule Coming Soon

Louis Vuitton is making its workwear looks, including an exclusive footwear collaboration with Timberland, available for presale on July 18. The latest Pharrell project since he took over as Men’s Creative Director in 2023, the new ready-to-wear styles include chore coats, multi-pocketed trousers, practical separates, and accessories, such as a limited-edition Keepall 50 Toolbox bag. The LV-Timberland footwear will come in three boot silhouettes, including the 6-Inch Exceptional Edition that boasts 18-karat gold tongue initials, eyelets, lace tips, and tag hardware.

NHL Inks Licensing Deal with New Era

The NHL confirmed a multi-year licensing deal on Tuesday that allows headgear company New Era to create hats and apparel for the league and its 32 franchises. Set to begin with the 2024-25 season, New Era merch will include current NHL and team logos, vintage designs, and event logos for the NHL Winter Classic and the NHL Stadium Series. With this new partnership, the two sides aim to “work collaboratively to engage fans across the US, Canada, and abroad.”
