The Boston Celtics Are Going on Sale

Wyc Grousbeck and the Boston Celtics ownership group are entertaining buyers. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the defending champs will soon be on the market, with the franchise confirming that a majority interest will be available for purchase either this year or early 2025. Grousbeck, who purchased the team in 2002, would serve as the governor of the Celtics until the sale closes, likely in 2028. Sportico estimates the franchise is worth $5.2 billion.

For the first time in Adidas history, Mahomes’ signature Gladiator logo will be featured on official collegiate apparel.

Tom Petty Estate Signs Global Distribution Deal with Warner Chappell Music

Following in the footsteps of David Bowie, Tom Petty’s catalog will now be administered by Warner Chappell Music. As reported by Variety, Petty’s estate reached a partnership that will allow the late singer-songwriter’s catalog to be distributed both domestically and abroad. Highlighted by “Free Falling” and “I Won’t Back Down,” Petty’s catalog spans 40 years and nearly 70 singles, backed by eight Platinum albums through solo and group efforts.

Athletes Unlimited Announces Kim Ng as Senior Advisor

Former Miami Marlins general manager Kim Ng is taking her talents to Athletes Unlimited. Serving as a Senior Advisor for the Athletes Unlimited Softball League, the storied MLB exec will work closely with Athletes Unlimited CEO Jon Patricof to oversee the development of the pro softball league backed by ESPN. Set to launch in Spring 2025, the AUSL will debut as a touring property across six to eight different markets before becoming a city-based league in 2026.

Under Armour Signs the Cavinder Twins to 3-year Endorsement Deal

After a brief basketball hiatus and WWE sabbatical, multi-hyphenate hoopers Haley and Hanna Cavinder are back on the court and officially taking their talents to Under Armour in a three-year deal. Despite playing for the Adidas-sponsored Miami Hurricanes, the twins will endorse UA footwear and apparel across their massive social followings. The three-year deal will extend past their collegiate playing days.
