Per an exclusive report from Don Van Natta of ESPN, federal prosecutors in Virginia will investigate financial misconduct allegations against Dan Snyder and the Washington Commanders, as a grand jury issued subpoenas for documents related to the franchise’s finances. As part of the process, the FBI and IRS will look into a $55 million loan the Commanders received without board members’ approval — a violation of franchise shareholder rules. Three minority stakeholders reportedly had zero knowledge of Snyder using the team’s budget for personal expenses, including $4.5 million to get Washington’s logo engraved on his private jet.
