After winning five Grammy Awards in 2025 with “Not Like Us,” Kendrick Lamar is also the most nominated artist for the 2026 Grammys with nine, the Recording Academy revealed Friday. Lady Gaga sits with the second-most nominations at seven, while Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter, and Leon Thomas nabbed six each. All five artists are up for Album of the Year alongside Justin Bieber, Clipse, and Tyler, the Creator. Other notable nominations include KPop Demon Hunters getting three nods for popular track “Golden” as well as Timothée Chalamet and Steven Spielberg earning their first nominations. Major airlines have canceled hundreds of flights on Friday after the Federal Aviation Administration issued a directive in response to the ongoing government shutdown, the longest in U.S. history. Per data firm Cirium, roughly 780 flights have been axed across 40 different markets, which amounts to roughly 3% of all Friday flights. The FAA’s order will see that number increase to 10% by next Friday.

As college football’s fiercest rivalries take center stage in the coming weeks, Hollister is celebrating the spirit of competition with its new rivals collection. The campaign features some of the sport’s brightest young stars who represent opposing in-state and national powerhouses, including Florida’s DJ Lagway and Florida State’s Tommy Castellanos, Texas’s Colin Simmons and Texas A&M’s Julian Humphrey, and Michigan’s Bryce Underwood alongside Ohio State’s Carnell Tate.

It appears that the standoff between YouTube TV and ESPN will continue into the weekend, just in time for some marquee college football matchups on the network, as well as Monday Night Football. This will be the second weekend that 10 million subscribers will miss out on ESPN programming after Disney and Google were unable to settle a carriage dispute. Among ESPN’s slate this weekend are a top-10 matchup between BYU and Texas Tech, a primetime rivalry with LSU and Alabama, and arguably the most compelling MNF game of the season in the Eagles vs. Packers.

Elon Musk‘s $1 trillion pay plan has been approved by Tesla shareholders, the company announced Thursday, stating that the package received over 75% of the voting shares in support. The world’s richest person will now receive 12 tranches of shares that will be granted should Tesla reach certain milestones over the years, with the first one converting when the company reaches a $2 billion market capitalization.

The NWSL finished the regular season strong to record an average of 214,000 viewers across CBS, ION, and ABC/ESPN networks, up 22% from 2024, with ESPN receiving a 61% bump across its 17-game schedule. As it looks to take the momentum into the playoffs, which kick off Friday night between the Orlando Pride and Seattle Reign, the league has tapped Rico Nasty for its “The Proof is in the Playoffs” postseason campaign.

Ryan Reynolds is partnering with Amazon MGM to create a remake of Thunderbolt & Lightfoot, a 1974 action-comedy film that originally starred Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges. Reynolds appears to be taking on much of the workload, aiming to star in the movie as well as help write the script and produce alongside his Maximum Effort production team.

As the government shutdown continues, so does the lack of weekly jobs reports from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. However, according to economists surveyed by Dow Jones, October’s report would have shown a decrease of 60,000 jobs as well as an unemployment increase to 4.5%. “We’re in an unusual environment, which is this low-hiring, low-firing, environment,” Austan Goolsbee, Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago President, told CNBC.

Remember the good old days when Grand Theft Auto VI was initially set to be released in the fall of this year? Well, the popular video game franchise from Rockstar Games just announced yet another delay to November 2026, with the company saying, “these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.” For what it’s worth: GTA 5, the second-best-selling game ever behind Minecraft, dropped in 2013.

After a poor month at the box office in October, Predator: Badlands looks to buck that trend to kick off November, bringing in $4.8 million in previews. Projections indicate it will collect anywhere between $25 million and $30 million throughout its debut weekend. Competing with the latest Predator film in theaters will be Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson’s Die My Love and Sydney Sweeney’s Christy, among others.
