With Kyle Kuzma leading the way, Washington becomes “Bloom City” with all-new cherry blossom-inspired Nike uniforms for next season.
The Washington Wizards have worn some safe, not overly ambitious NBA City Edition jerseys since Nike unveiled the concept in 2017. There are really only so many red, white and blue combos out there, with some black and stars and stripes thrown in there for perceived variation.
For 2022-23, the Wizards are making huge strides with pink uniforms in honor of Washington, DC’s iconic cherry blossoms — and they’re the first NBA team to introduce a City Edition uniform for next season, as revealed to the world by forward Kyle Kuzma.
The pink comes with blue and white trim at the collar with a pink and white blossom gradient on the side slowly morphing into purple and blue at the bottom of the shorts.

It’s only fitting that Kuzma, power forward on the court and fashion-forward off it, is the model for the new kit. His insanely long pink sweater broke social media back in November, and now the Wizards are letting him debut the same color they’ll wear on the court.

Kuz looks especially snazzy rocking the jersey next to the cherry blossoms themselves with a gold and floral suit. Hopefully, this is just the beginning of Washington’s new era of inspired looks, because Kuzma and the Wiz are going to look especially sharp in those pink threads next season.
