WhatNot’s Retail Rally: A Black Friday Feast for Collectors

Last Updated: April 25, 2022
This week’s live-streaming auctions at WhatNot give hobbyists and sneakerheads alike a chance to score rare collectibles at retail rates.

Stop taking retail Ls!

Whatnot, the live-streaming auction app designed around a wide range of trading cards and other collectibles, is having an extraordinary special during this Black Friday weekend. “Retail Rally: Black Friday Edition” is an event where WhatNot members can get hard-to-find items like PlayStation 5 consoles, 2020-21 Panini Prizm NBA Blaster boxes, Metazoo Booster Boxes, and 1999 Pokémon Base Set Unlimited booster packs (from a sealed box, no less).

The Retail Rally will take place on the WhatNot app from Friday, Nov. 26 through Sunday, Nov. 28. Some of the items will be available on specific WhatNot streamers channels, while others will be randomly inserted throughout the weekend on random channels that have yet to be revealed

Scheduled Drops

There will be three scheduled special events on WhatNot throughout the weekend. The first takes place on Friday at 3 p.m. ET with 100 2020-21 Panini Prizm Basketball Blasters available at a retail price of $19.99 featuring BackyardBreaks and some special guests. This set includes rookie cards of LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards, and Tyrese Haliburton.

The second offering is a Pokémon Base Set Unlimited Box at the 1999 retail price of $3.99 per pack; the current market value of a sealed booster pack from that set is upwards of $600. This is an opportunity for older collectors to rediscover cards from their childhood days and for new hobbyists to collect the original set for the first time, Including the infamous Charizard holographic card that was recently reprinted in the 25th anniversary Celebrations set.

This box break will go live Sunday at 3 p.m. ET with hobby influencers SuperDuperDani, AlexKetchum, and more.

The next event features 100 pairs of Yeezy Foam Runners at the attractive retail price of $80. Sneaker enthusiasts can try and get a pair through lifestyle and fashion YouTuber Blazendary and friends’ seller channels.

In addition to these scheduled events, other items will be available at retail rates at random times throughout the weekend.
