Last Updated: September 29, 2022

In connection with the release of The Sneaker Game, Boardroom is giving away a signed pair of game worn KD 14s, a 2007 Topps Kevin Durant rookie card, and a signed copy of NBA2K15 with Kevin on the cover.  Sign up above for a chance to win!*

On this episode of The Sneaker Game, sneakers are revealed to be more than just footwear. They signify a way of life that both reflects and fosters identity.

KD details the sneaker journey from his first signature shoe to his most recent, KD14s.  Being one of only three athletes with 14 signature shoes alongside only Michael Jordan and LeBron James, Durant delves into how everything from his childhood love of NERF to the basketball courts he played on in his youth helped shape the design of his sneakers.

Durant peels back the curtain to discuss his sneaker business and why he chose Nike. He also dives into his decision to stay with Nike despite competing offers throughout his entire career. Visit Boardroom.tv on May 18 for episode 2 of Sneaker Game featuring special guest Stephen Curry.

Nick DePaula

Nick DePaula covers the footwear industry and endorsement deals surrounding the sporting landscape, with an emphasis on athlete and executive interviews. The Sacramento, California, native has been based in Portland, Oregon, for the last decade, a main hub of sneaker company headquarters. He’ll often argue that How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days is actually an underrated movie, largely because it’s the only time his Sacramento Kings have made the NBA Finals.
