Through an ongoing partnership with Samsung, fans can now play mini-games and explore The Tonight Show’s virtual world in Fortnite with “Tonight at the Rock.”
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is getting its own game in the Fortnite universe through a partnership with Samsung.
“Tonight at the Rock Powered by Samsung Galaxy” is the show’s first interactive gaming experience set to launch alongside Wednesday night’s episode. Players can create their own personalized avatars and embark on virtual adventures in the show’s metaverse world, which replicates 30 Rockefeller Center and other notable show locations. Throughout the experience, fans can play mini-games including Giant Pong, Escape Studio 6B, Race Up the Rock, and more.
The Tonight Show’s Fortnite world features single-player and multiplayer modes. The gaming experience is accessible with an Epic Games account across PC platforms, browser-enabled devices including Android, and gaming consoles like Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.
This partnership is an extension of Samsung’s work with The Tonight Show, which includes the pair’s post-Super Bowl campaign earlier this year and the show’s first film festival last spring featuring up-and-coming filmmakers. Most notably, Samsung helped take Fallon’s show on the road to five landmarks across each of New York City’s boroughs last fall.
“At Samsung, we’re always looking for opportunities to give users one-of-a-kind experiences with their Galaxy devices,” said Janet Lee, senior VP of Mobile Experience at Samsung Electronics America, in a statement. “’Tonight at the Rock’ empowers fans with a unique social adventure right in the heart of 30 Rock, all enhanced through in-game Samsung power-ups made possible by the Galaxy ecosystem.”
Tonight Show viewers can tune into a special in-show integration of the virtual experience Wednesday night, Sept. 21 at 11:35 pm ET that will mirror one of the mini-games included in “Tonight at the Rock.”
