Fresh off his retirement from the NFL after a legendary career, the GOAT takes on Hollywood with a star-studded movie, 80 for Brady, in which he will serve as both actor and producer.
Tom Brady knows how to execute a play. He’s been doing it for as long as many of us can remember. And now, the former seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers is ready to start drawing them up.
On Wednesday, it was revealed via The Hollywood Reporter that TB12 is making his foray into Hollywood in producing and starring in an upcoming football-themed road trip film entitled 80 for Brady.
And in proper TB12 fashion, he’s bringing out the stars for this one.
Decorated Hollywood icons Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Rita Moreno, and Sally Field will star in the movie, which will be directed by Kyle Marvin and produced by Paramount Pictures and Endeavor Content. Inspired by a true story, 80 For Brady tells the story of four best friends (and Patriots fans) embarking on an adventure of a lifetime.
Taking place around Super Bowl LI — which featured the Pats’ infamous 28-3 comeback against the Atlanta Falcons — Tomlin, Fonda, Moreno, and Field operate as a quartet on a mission to see their favorite quarterback in one of the biggest games of his career. They’ll stop at nothing to get there, but along the way, obstacles arise and chaos ensues.
According to THR, Brady has been “deeply involved” in the process of this film since the beginning.
The soon-to-be Hall of Fame quarterback is a different type of shot-caller now. And if he plans on taking on film and television with the same unstoppable drive that animated his career on the field, Hollywood’s got a new MVP on its hands.
Production on 80 for Brady is slated to begin this spring with an eye toward a 2023 release.
