State Farm Announces All-new Partnerships with Overtime Elite

Last Updated: October 25, 2022
The insurance leader will sponsor OTE’s innovative “king of the court” competitions and take part in community initiatives around the Atlanta area.

When Overtime Elite recently announced the competitive format for its inaugural season, one of those was what it calls “takeover events,” consisting of marquee individual showcases like dunk contests, 3-point shootouts, and one-on-one “king of the court” battles. Those competitions — which will count as part of OTE’s official standings — will be presented by State Farm, which was announced Wednesday as the league’s exclusive on-campus home, auto, and life insurance sponsor.

State Farm will work collectively with OTE to benefit the communities surrounding the organization’s new Atlanta campus, including grassroots efforts to engage its new home market with ongoing events and experiences with area athletes and ambassadors.

“Helping our athletes reach their full potential on and off the court and building our community in Atlanta are priorities for us at OTE,” said Aaron Ryan, OTE’s commissioner and president. “This sponsorship with State Farm gives us the opportunity to do both.”

As part of the agreement, State Farm will build educational enrichment programs for OTE athletes centered around financial literacy as they pursue their NBA dreams on the court. That program will also extend to content catered to Overtime’s digital community, reaching young hoop fans all over the world.

“State Farm cares deeply about Metro Atlanta – on and off the basketball court,” said Alyson Griffin, State Farm’s head of marketing efforts “By supporting OTE’s athletes with our financial literacy and planning programs and giving back to the broader community, we’ll be doing what we do best: helping today’s and tomorrow’s generations manage the risks of everyday life and realize their dreams.”
