NFL All Day 101: Everything You Need to Know to Start Collecting

Last Updated: July 5, 2023
NFL All Day brings NFT collecting and a blockchain-powered marketplace to football fans. Here’s how to get started.

Towards the end of the 2021 season, Dapper Labs revealed its long-awaited NFL All Day platform to the masses. It’s the sequel to its wildly successful and popular NBA Top Shot product, one of Boardroom’s best NFTs of 2021, with all transactions processed and guaranteed through Dapper’s Flow blockchain.

Since NBA Top Shot dropped its first collection in December 2020, it has provided a whole new path for fans to engage with the game and their favorite players. In that short time, more than $1 billion in Top Shot transactions have been processed, including a LeBron James Moment selling for $230,023 in August.

(All told, tens of thousands of transactions are made each day of any and all sizes on the NBA Top Shot and NFL All Day marketplaces — a six-figure largesse is not required.)

So, have you been curious about getting into NFTs? Signing up for NFL All Day could be the start of a rip-roaring NFL adventure for diehards and casuals alike.

Dapper Labs’ All Day brings football fans from around the world closer than ever to their favorite players and teams through highlight Moment NFTs officially licensed by the NFL and NFLPA. It’s your chance to own dynamic collectibles featuring your favorite players and teams, from an electric Patrick Mahomes pass, an essential drive by the Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams, or an acrobatic Ja’Marr Chase catch. Each week, you can open new digital packs of NFT Moments from the most exciting and impactful plays of the 2021 season.

But before we get to all that, let’s focus on the basics.

What is an NFT?

A non-fungible token is a unique digital asset guaranteed and authenticated on a blockchain, which ensures that your token— in this case, an NFL All Day Moment— cannot be forged, duplicated, or subject to fraud or theft.

What is a Moment?

A Moment is an officially licensed NFL collectible video highlight. Just like physical trading cards, there are different types, tiers, and series of Moments, with unique digital serial numbers guaranteeing authenticity and ownership history and indicating the rarity of your Moment, including whether it’s a certain player’s first-ever All Day Moment. Certain serial numbers — like early numbers, the final number in the set, or especially the particular player’s jersey number — are considered more valuable than others and figure to sell for more on the All Day Marketplace.

What are the different types of packs and Moments?

There are three different types of Moments. They are available via packs, or by buying and selling in the platform’s official marketplace. NBA Top Shot-style Challenges will also be available near the start of the 2022 NFL season.

  • Common: The majority of Moments, with at least 9,999 minted of each.
  • Rare: Available in packs and the marketplace, but with only 499 to 2,000 minted.
  • Legendary: The cream of the crop. There are fewer than 100 of each Moment in an entire collection.

Packs generally contain either three or four Moments, each with a distinct serial number signifying which specific Moment within a given mint that you own.

How do I buy NFL All Day Moments?

Moments can either be purchased through packs in various NFL All Day drops — which are announced via email, social media, and Discord — or through the All Day marketplace, where fans from all over the world buy and sell around the clock. Packs are generally made up of top highlights from a particular week in the NFL regular season or playoffs, or the top plays a particular team made over the course of the season.

How are sales processed?

As powered by Dapper Labs’ Flow blockchain, every purchased NFT goes directly to a digital wallet connected to the buyer’s account. But unlike most NFTs, you don’t need to own cryptocurrency to buy or sell Moments, as everything is conveniently converted into US dollars. From your wallet, you can easily add or withdraw funds.

What can I do with Moments once I own them?

Once you own a Moment, you can hold onto it like any other investment or sell it in the peer-to-peer marketplace. In the coming months, you’ll be able to use them to win prizes by competing in official challenges.

NFL All Day brings football’s most dedicated fans closer to the game by letting them relive their favorite highlights, join an active, like-minded community, and build an amazing NFT collection along the way. Getting in on the ground floor of the future of NFTs and digital collectibles is only a few short clicks away.
