How NBCU’s Creator Accelerator Program Brings TikTok Talent to Peacock

Boardroom details how NBCU is reshaping content development with the first cohort of its Creator Accelerator program, which just dropped four new series on Peacock.

NBCUniversal is transforming TikTok stardom into streaming content with its first-ever Creator Accelerator program — a bold experiment that blends viral talent with network TV development.

NBCUniversal launched the program in October 2022, marking an industry-first initiative aimed at transforming social media stars into premium TV talent. The inaugural class featured 11 creators with a combined following of over 10 million, all signing development deals with Universal Studio Group to bring their creative visions to life as original series.

Over the course of a year, each creator worked closely with NBCUniversal mentors, navigating the entire development process — from pitching and scripting to production — with support from partners such as Telemundo Studios and Tandem Pictures. This experience resulted in four new creator-led shows now streaming on Peacock as part of its Emerging Artist Series, which officially launched on May 19, 2025.

  • The Warehouse Phase, created by Charlie Curtis-Beard, follows Chi, a rising musician unexpectedly thrust into influencer stardom after a famous rapper’s sudden death. As Chi chases fame, he struggles to balance his passion for music with the addictive nature of online celebrity.
  • The Kouncil, from Katie Florence, is a witty comedy about navigating adulthood post-breakup. Katie’s personified inner council — Logic, Heart, Anxiety, and Lady Parts — guides (and sometimes derails) her as she wrestles with love, career setbacks, and self-worth.
  • Older Hotter Wiser, written by Serena Kerrigan, chronicles a chaotic road trip to Los Angeles as a young woman and her boyfriend confront old mistakes, career dreams, and personal truths. As her online persona clashes with real life, she confronts what she truly wants from love, fame, and herself.
  • People Like Me, created by Daren Vongirdner, centers on a young man’s journey through therapy, humor, music, and dance as he confronts anxiety, relationships, and personal growth. With each stumble, he learns to embrace life’s unpredictability and imperfections.
