NBA Top Shot Sleuth Discovers Clue About Possible New All-Star Set

Enthusiasts of the league’s official NFT collectibles craze are convinced that Team Durant moments from the 2021 NBA All-Star Game are coming to Top Shot.

In the earliest hours of Wednesday morning, a handful of superfans increasingly noticed that a new category had been added to the official Top Shot Marketplace. And it might just tease what the newest set of tradable NFT moments is going to be.

Take a look at what Twitter user @RobFlaska noticed in his latest search.

Hmmm. What’s all this, then?

This appears to confirm that NBA Top Shot added a new set of moments entitled “Team Durant East” to its searchable database of tokens. As of this writing, however, any new set related to Kevin Durant’s NBA All-Star squad that took the court Sunday against Team LeBron is not currently available.

But it could be very, very soon — though not before Top Shot undergoes some routine maintenance.

For reference, Team Durant included Kyrie Irving, Joel Embiid, Kawhi Leonard, Bradley Beal, Jayson Tatum, James Harden, Devin Booker, Zion Williamson, Zach LaVine, Julius Randle, Nikola Vučević, Donovan Mitchell. Anthony Davis, as well as Durant himself, were on the roster but did not participate in the game.

If this bit of sleuthing turns out to be legit, the floodgates could soon be open for 2021 All-Star moments on NBA Top Shot. Especially as we’re all waiting for the season to resume with actual games, the idea that we could soon get on Sunday’s best and brightest highlights in Atlanta is a pretty sweet one.
