Netflix has a stacked lineup coming to the streaming service in the coming months. The company revealed the trailers for a wide range of games and programming at its Tudum global event. It was the second installment of the global event, which brought in 25 million viewers. The event included a preview for the upcoming season of Umbrella Academy, deleted scenes from hit programs like Squid Games and Stranger Things.

Monday marks the Lakers‘ media day. After a disappointing season, the boys in purple and gold are looking for a new start and LeBron and company are ready. One of the most hotly anticipated shoes of 2022 has arrived and now the LeBron XX has dropped a Lakers colorway. The “vivid purple” release features the shoe’s signature “double-stacked Swooshes.” The shoe will be available on Oct. 7.
LPGA Links up with Mizuho to Pad Prize Purses
The LPGA will expand this season. The women’s tour announced that it has inked a deal with Mizuho Americas, and will be able to enhance the prize payouts for the upcoming year. One of those tournaments will include the Mizuho Americas Open, which is set to take place May 29-June 4 in Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City, NJ. The winner will take home $2.75 million. In addition, one of women’s golf’s biggest stars – Michelle Wie West – will serve as an ambassador for the brand.
Middle Tennessee State University Stuns No. 25 Miami
The young college football season has had its fair share of shocking upsets. Middle Tennessee State University came into Saturday’s matchup against Miami as 26-point underdogs but routed No. 25 Miami by a final score of 45-31. The victory marked the first-ever win over a top 25 team in MTSU history. The Blue Raiders improved to 3-1 on the season.
Investigation Shows that Favre Knew about Misappropriation of Funds
Brett Favre is embroiled in the middle of a state-led investigation of the misuse of welfare funds in Mississippi. Favre received or facilitated over $8 million in the funds for various ventures. The investigation shows that Favre was aware of the source of the funds, but continued to pressure then-governor Phil Bryant for $5 million for a new volleyball facility at the University of Southern Mississippi. Text messages show that Favre pushed for additional money for a new football facility in an effort to bring high-profile recruits to the school.
