Washington Commanders Enlist Bank of America for Potential Sale

Washington Commanders’ owner Dan Synder announced that he’s hired Bank of America to help “consider possible transactions.” The move could signal the first step in him finally selling the team. Snyder has been under significant pressure to sell the team for years. On Oct. 13, ESPN reported that the owner had told members of his inner circle he had gathered dirt on multiple fellow NFL owners, coaches, executives, and even some of his employees. Snyder immediately refuted the report. The team is currently valued at $4.78 billion, per Sportico’s recent NFL report. The US attorney’s office in Virginia is currently investigating the franchise for potential misappropriation of finances.

Naomi Osaka Teams up with Hyperice to Encourage Global Mental Health

Four-time Grand Slam champion and co-founder of the EVOLVE talent agency, Naomi Osaka, is investing in her own mental health. She announced her new “Relax With Naomi” meditation program on Hyperice’s Core App. The Bluetooth-enabled Core unit will guide users through breathing exercises via calming cues, soft lights, and helpful vibrations. “I want to be a voice in helping those who may not be as open when it comes to the topic of mental health,” Osaka said in a statement. 

Becky Hammon Joins ESPN as NBA Analyst

Becky Hammon is a basketball savant. The WNBA champion and 2022 Coach of the Year is heading to the desk at ESPN, where she will serve as an in-studio analyst for the 2022-23 NBA season. Prior to joining the Las Vegas Aces, Hammond served as an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs.

‘Euphoria’s’ Javon "Wanna" Walton Signs with Jordan Brand

Jordan Brand has made huge splashes. The sneaker brand recently signed San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel and UCLA freshman Kiki Rice to the company’s first-ever NIL signing. Women’s International Pickleball Association Seeks to Create Equity from the Baseline

Pickleball is taking over. Led by senior pickleball pro Rachel Hong, the Women’s International Pickleball Association will work to give female pickleball athletes a level playing field. With the launch of WIPA becoming official, Sparks star Chiney Ogwumike and Disrupt the Game president Allison Galer will serve as co-founders. “Sponsorship opportunities for women are also what I really want our organization to advocate for, because that’s where women are underrepresented in sports,” Hong told Boardroom The organization will look to build women’s equity in the sport from the baseline as the professional leagues take root.
