Beyoncé Moves into History Books with 9 Grammy Nominations

The 2023 Grammy nominations are here. Beyoncé led all nominees with nine nominations for her 2022 album Renaissance, netting a lifetime total of 88 nominations. Kendrick Lamar received eight nominations, while Adele and Brandi Carlile each received seven. The Grammy Awards are set to take place on Feb. 5 in Los Angeles.

LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Announces Nipsey Hussle Docuseries

LeBron James and Maverick Carter’s SpringHill Co. is helping produce a Nipsey Hussle docuseries that’ll bring fans inside looks into the life of the late rapper. The film will feature exclusive footage, including interviews with rap legends like Diddy and Dr. Dre. “It’s an incredible honor for SpringHill to have a part in sharing Nipsey’s story and legacy with the world,” James said. “He used his gift to give back to his community and lived what it means to inspire, empower, and uplift others along the way.”

Louis Vuitton Prepares to Convert Paris HQ into High-class Hotel

Paris is synonymous with the ultimate in luxury. Now, tourists will be able to book accommodations to reflect their high-class taste. Louis Vuitton CEO Michael Burke announced that the French fashion house is converting its headquarters into a complex of epic proportions. The vision includes the company’s first-ever hotel, which will be adjacent to its largest storefront. The complex will also include a conceptual art space, which will feature installations and collaborations with artists from around the world. 

Taylor Swift Breaks the Internet with Ticketmaster Presale

It’s the beginning of a new era for Taylor Swift. The singer announced her Eras Tour, and Swifties everywhere mobilized. However, concert-goers faced brutally long queues and, at times, a broken website, as the tickets went live on Tuesday. As a result, Ticketmaster announced its plans to extend the presale due to “unprecedented demand.” Tickets for the 52-stop tour will run fans between $49 and $899. However, the resale market is already popping, with some offerings listed at over $23,000. 

Packers & Cowboys Set 2022 NFL Season Viewership Record

The NFL’s ratings are booming during the 2022 season and now they’ve set a new milestone. The FOX “Game of the Week” featuring the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys garnered 29.2 million viewers, the most-watched NFL game this season and it marks the highest-viewed Game of the Week since 2016. But the shield’s impact is greater than the field. FOX’s America’s Game of the Week is the most-watched program in all of television. 

Travis Scott, Future, & Playboi Carti to Headline Rolling Loud California

It’s never too early to start planning next year’s festival schedule. Rolling Loud California will be difficult to top. The festival unveiled its lineup, which will feature Travis Scott, Future, Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, Saweetie, and more. The event is scheduled to take place between March 3-5 in Inglewood, right next to SoFi Stadium. The news comes the same day as Scott revealed that he is producing a biopic about Houston’s legendary DJ Screw.

Anthony Rizzo, Yankees Reach Deal Worth up to $51M

It was another disappointing ending to the Yankees season, falling at the hands of the Astros in a four-game ALCS sweep. Now, the Bronx Bombers have their sights set on 2023. As they look to shore up their roster, the team re-signed slugger Anthony Rizzo to a two-year, $34 million deal with a third-year option worth $17 million. Rizzo, 33, hit 32 dingers in 130 games this past season.

New York City Football Club Nets First-ever Soccer Stadium

After nearly a decade, New York City Football Club is getting its very own stadium. The club, which has traditionally played at Yankee Stadium as its home field, announced on Tuesday that it will build a 25,000 seat stadium in Willets Point Queens. The project will also include a hotel and 2,500 affordable housing units, and is expected to cost the club $780 million. 

Kelley O'Hara Signs with Gotham FC as NWSL Free Agency Kicks Off

Kelley O’Hara is heading east. The USWNT star signed a deal with NJ/NY Gotham FC, where she will join her national team teammates Midge Purce, Kristie Mewis, and more. The signing comes on the first day of NWSL’s first-ever free agency period, which was included in the league’s all-new collective bargaining agreement.
