Ticketmaster Surges with Massive Quarter

Concerts are officially back. Ticketmaster’s parent company Live Nation reported that it experienced a huge surge in ticket sales, shilling up to 15,000 tickets per minute during the busiest times. As huge acts like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and SZA returned to the stage, fans continue to pony up the extra costs to see their favorite acts live.

White House Outlines AI Safety Regulations

Coming out of a meeting between Vice President Kamala Harris and four top tech CEOs this week, the Biden Administration has announced a new set of measures to address artificial intelligence regulations. The President is calling for three main actions to improve AI safety: new investments to power responsible American AI research and development; public assessments of existing generative AI systems; and policies to ensure the U.S. government is leading by example in mitigating AI risks and harnessing AI opportunities.

Former DePaul standout Aneesah Morrow announced her transfer intentions on Friday. The historic momentum of Coach Kim Mulkey’s LSU Tigers continues as she adds yet another star to her defending champion roster. The former DePaul All-American — who averaged over 25 points and 12 rebounds last season — announced via a NIL partnership that she will head to Baton Rouge to continue her illustrious career.

The Adidas and Kanye West Saga Continues

More than six months after parting ways, the Kanye West and Adidas drama drags on. The German sportswear brand revealed that it has $1.3 billion in Yeezy backstock. As the company considers what to do with the product, the company faced a very difficult fiscal quarter without one of its biggest profit drivers. Revenue dropped 1%, which was a stark contrast to the projected 9% increase with Yeezy product.

Las Vegas Golden Knights Become First NHL Team to Broadcast Games for Free

The Las Vegas Golden Knights are joining the Phoenix Suns and Mercury in bringing their games to their fans for free. The team inked a long-term deal with Scripps Sports. As a result all of the team’s match ups during the 2023-24 season, with the exception of those in national timeslots, will be available on the local station, KMCC-TV.
