Spurs Mint Limited-run NFT to Celebrate Gregg Popovich’s Winning Record

On Friday night, the Spurs beat the Jazz 104-102. With the victory, Gregg Popovich became the winningest coach in NBA history with 1,336 wins. Players and coaches from both sides celebrated the milestone with the famously stoic Pop. The team announced that it will mint a limited edition NFT, featuring the same number as the milestone, and will designate the proceeds to one Pop’s favorite charities, the San Antonio Food Bank.

Spike Lee Honored with Lifetime Achievement Honor at Directors Guild Awards

The Oscars are still two weeks away, but awards season is very much underway in Hollywood. On Saturday night, the stars came out to honor the best in television and movies at this year’s Directors Guild Awards. While Jane Campion took home the night’s highest honor for her film The Power of the Dog, Spike Lee bestowed with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the big screen. 

Cristiano Ronaldo Nets FIFA Record with Hat Trick Performance

What’s better than one goal, how about three? Ronaldo continued his dominance on the global football stage with a hat trick performance as Manchester United beat Tottenham 3-2 on Saturday. He notched goals at the 12, 38, and 81-minute markers, making him soccer’s all-time leading goal scorer. Tom Brady was in the crowd, cheering on No. 7, and the two GOATs met on the pitch after the game.

Shake Shack Launches Limited-time Crypto Rewards Program

Your favorite burger will now come with a side of cryptocurrency. Shake Shack announced that it is launching a new customer promotion that will offer customers 15% cash back in crypto through the end of March. The offer only applies to customers who pay for their order with a Cash App card.

Amari Cooper Headed to Cleveland

Last week, Boardroom asked if the Cowboys could afford Amari Cooper’s contract, and on Saturday we got an answer. The four-time Pro Bowler is Cleveland-bound, as part of a trade that will send a fifth-round draft pick to Dallas, while the Browns will absorb the remainder of Cooper’s three-year, $60 million contract. The move fills a major hole for the Browns, which lost Odell Beckham Jr. midseason and giving Jarvis Landry permission to seek a trade.
