Nadal Makes History with Five-Set Stunner

Men’s tennis has a new grand slam king. Rafael Nadal beat 25-year-old sensation Daniil Medvedev in an epic five-hour, five-set match to take home the Australian Open title. The win marked the 21st grand slam for the Spaniard, the most in the history of men’s tennis. 

Tom Brady Retirement Speculation Swirls

Will he or won’t he? On the eve of the NFL‘s Conference Championship games, fans around the globe speculated on the future of Tom Brady. Adam Schefter and Jeff Darlington reported that the time had come for the seven-time Super Bowl champ to hang up his cleats. But the news was quickly refuted by Brady’s father and Bay area reporter Kylen Mills. ESPN stands by its reporting and continues to stress that the question is not if TB12 will retire this off-season, but when. Boardroom will continue to monitor the situation. 

Justin Bieber Drops 500 ETH on Bored Ape

On the same day as the floor price for a Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT skyrocketed past 100 ETH, the Club got its newest celebrity member. Justin Bieber purchased Bored Ape #3001, which features a simple grey t-shirt and watery eyes, for 500 ETH ($1.3M).

Conference Championships Matchups Expected to Draw Record Numbers

Last weekend, football fans everywhere were treated to one of the wildest weekends in NFL history. Each of the four divisional games came down to the final moment and drew record-setting viewership numbers. The fate of each team will be decided today as Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs take on Joe Burrow and the red-hot Bengals and Deebo Samuels seeks to extend his sensational rookie season against the blistering defense of Aaron Darnold and the Rams. The winner of the two games will face off at SoFi Stadium on Feb. 5. 

Crypto Winter Thaws as Markets Rebound

One month in 2022, and the crypto market has taken investors on a wild ride. After a devastating week, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Dogecoin each regained value as the “crypto winter” began to thaw. The news comes as many major crypto companies have announced huge funding rounds and valuations. Just this week, cryptocurrency exchange FTX announced a $400 million fundraise at an $8 billion valuation.

Ronda Rousey Returns to the Ring at Royal Rumble

After three years away, Ronda Rousey is back. The former UFC star reemerged in St. Louis after an extended hiatus from the WWE. Rousey paid homage to Rowdy Roddy Piper with her fit, which featured the word “Baddest” across the front. She lived up to her bravado, outlasting 29 women and taking down Charlotte Flair, and outlasted 29 women to earn a spot at WresleMania. 

Miu Miu and New Balance Team Up for Classic Collab 

As runways around the globe pop off, forecasting the next big thing in fashion, footwear is always a part of the conversation. Luxury brand Miu Miu announced a new collaboration with New Balance. The Italian couture label brings its classic, distressed approach to basic to New Balance’s 574 style and will come in three colorways: white, royal blue, and colonial beige colorways.
