Beyoncé Makes History at the 65th Grammy Awards

From Questlove’s perfectly curated performance to honor the 50th anniversary of hip-hop to Lizzo’s pure joy upon receiving Record of the Year, the Grammys served up an unforgettable evening. Amidst it all, Beyoncé took home four trophies. She became the most decorated artist in the 65 years of the Grammys with 32 awards. Kim Petras also made history, becoming the first transgender artist to win. Viola Davis became only the 18th person to secure an EGOT.

Tony Hawk Announces Donation in Memory of Tyre Nichols

Over the last several weeks, the country has collectively mourned the murder of Tyre Nichols. Nichols, who died at the hands of Memphis police, was a sweet soul and a pillar of the Memphis skateboarding community. Now, he’ll be honored by one of the sport’s most iconic athletes. Tony Hawk announced that he will donate the profits from an upcoming photo sale to the Tyre Nichols Memorial Fund. Hawk tweeted: “My proceeds from [these photos will go to the Tyre Nichols Memorial Fund, which includes plans to build a public skatepark in his honor; as our worlds continue to grieve his loss. He was a talented skater among other admirable traits. Let’s keep his legacy alive.”

Kyrie Irving Heads to Dallas as Nets Respond to Trade Demand

The Nets bid farewell to Kyrie Irving on Sunday, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski was the first to report. Following Irving’s surprising trade request on Friday, the move came quickly. Irving yielded interest from the Lakers, Clippers, and more. Sources revealed that Brooklyn will send Irving to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, and future picks. Dallas got Irving and Markieff Morris in return.

M. Night Shyamalan Takes Over the Top Spot at the Box Office

Night Shyamalan’s thriller Knock at the Cabin had a bit of a slow start, but took in $14.2 million in its opening weekend, toppling Avatar 2: The Way of Water. Paramount’s 80 for Brady brought in $12.5 million, driven by the film’s discounted matinees across the country.
