Giannis and Nike Team Up for Uno-themed Shoe and Apparel Line

At last weekend’s All-Star events, Giannis and his brothers Kostas and Thanasis debuted the three colorways of the upcoming Giannis x Uno collection by Nike. The swoosh teamed up with the Greek Freak to launch the line, which includes sneakers, recovery shoes, and apparel that features 50th anniversary logo of the game and leans into the Uno colorway. There is also a custom basketball shoe that draws from Giannis’ favorite WILD card. 

ESPN’s Lineup of Women’s Sports Attracts 11.1M Viewers

If you broadcast it, they will come. Such is the mantra for women’s sports, which have traditionally struggled for airtime. The most recent numbers out of Bristol proved it to be true. ESPN reports that last weekend’s lineup of women’s hoops, softball, gymnastics, and soccer brought in 11.1 million viewers, 42% of which were women.

Machine Gun Kelly is everywhere these days. Fresh off his performance at the NBA All-Star Weekend, the actor and rapper revealed that he will be a playable character in WWE 2k22. In addition, he is crafting the game’s soundtrack. The news comes just a week after Quavo was unveiled as a playable character in NBA 2k. Who will be the next entertainer to step onto the screen?

DGK Inks Partnership with the LA Galaxy

The MLS season is officially underway. The LA Galaxy are looking to kick, push, and coast their way to the MLS Cup. In advance of their first game, the Galaxy announced a collab with skateboard icon Stevie WilliamsDGK. The teaser features DGK riders, Juan Moreno, Adrianne Sloboh, and Dane Vaughn riding a custom skateboard deck.

Bayern Munich and Eintracht Frankfurt Stand Together Against Russia’s War on Ukraine

Saturday marked a busy day on the European soccer circuit. Prior to kicking off their match, Bayern Munich and  Eintracht Frankfurt stood together in solidarity against Russia’s war on Ukraine. As the teams lined up on the pitch, screens across the stadium read, “Stop it, Putin.” Several fans had Ukrainian flags declaring their hope for peace. 

Russian Oligarch Roman Abramovich Cedes Control of Chelsea

Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich has announced he is giving up control of the Chelsea after 19 years to its charitable foundation following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Abramovich has long held close ties to Putin and received pressure from the British Parliament to make the move. Earlier this week, Boris Johnson announced that Manchester United’s official airline, Aeroflot, had been banned from operations inside the country.
