Travis Scott's 'Utopia' Dropping This Summer

On the heels of Don Toliver’s Love Sick album drop on Friday, Cactus Jack fans have even more reasons to be excited. Epic Records CEO Sylvia Rhone revealed that Travis Scott’s Utopia is “expected to come in June.” Utopia would be Trav’s fifth album (fourth studio) after Days Before RodeoRodeoBirds In The Trap Sing McKnight, and AstroworldThough the Houston rapper teased Utopia, he’s waiting for Cactus Jack members — Toliver, Sheck Wes, and SoFaygo to drop first.

Meta Rolls Out AI Large Language Model, LLaMA

It’s been a big week for AI. Following in the footsteps of OpenAI’s meteoric rise and massive investment from MicrosoftMeta introduced LLaMA (Large Language Model Meta AI) on Friday in what they’re defining as a “state-of-the-art foundational large language model designed to help researchers advance their work in this subfield of AI.” The more limited model is built to be more desirable in the large language space since it doesn’t require as much computing power and test resources.

NFL Player Quits the League, Makes $5M off Pokémon Cards

Play your cards right and you might end up like Blake Martinez. The former NFL linebacker earned more than $28 million during his six-year NFL career, co-leading the league in tackles in 2017 before tearing his ACL four years later. What’s arguably more impressive than his accolades is what he did off the field when he retired. He made more than $5 million selling Pokemon cards. “I used to be like the quarterback of the defense, I was calling plays. When I started this business, it felt like running a team again,” he told CNBC.

Live Nation Cashes in As Live Events Mount Their Comeback

Live Nation is boasting major wins in 2022 — some of which can be attributed as a direct result of people attending live concerts after Covid ravaged the world. The company announced a 44.7% revenue boost vs. 2019, plus record attendance, gross transaction value, and sponsorship activity. In its earnings statement, the company projects a positive outlook with event-related deferred revenue starting at $2.7 billion — up $400 million from 2022.

MLS Preps for New Season with Rules and Regulations

The MLS is back! Although El Trafico was delayed a day due to weather, games will kick off across the country. This season will be a groundbreaking one for the league. MLS inked a major deal with Apple TV+ and Adidas in the offseason. It published its rules and regulations, which highlight a bump in the salary cap to $5.2 million and the minimum senior salary to $85,444. Additionally, it set the dates of the upcoming transfer windows, which will span from Jan. 31 to Apr. 24 and Jul. 5 to Aug. 2.
