Adesanya Earns Unanimous Victory at UFC 271

The Stylebender earned major style points Saturday night with a unanimous victory over Robert Whittaker in the main event at UFC 271. Adesanya, who is represented by Paradigm Sports and just signed a new multi-fight deal with the UFC, beat Whittaker by unanimous decision to retain the UFC middleweight title and improve his fight record to 22-1. While it’s not known just how much Adesanya walked away with on Saturday night, his new deal with the UFC is considered “one of the most lucrative multi-flight deals in company history.”

Pele Rookie Card Nets Record $1.33 Million

A rookie card of Brazilian soccer legend Pele has become soccer’s first to sell for $1 million. According to multiple reports, the 1958 Alifabologet #635 Pelé rookie card will be acquired for $1.33 million on Monday by fractional ownership company Rally Rd. The card is one of only six Pelé cards of this kind that have received at least a nine grade (out of 10) by card grader PSA and is considered the “holy grail” of soccer cards.

Khabib and Holloway Throw Down in First Metaverse Fight in History

The first Metaverse fight in the history of the Earth took place Saturday between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Max Holloway. The paid promotion, which was the brainchild of Legionfarm, was streamed live on Twitch and also featured Daniel Cormier and Islam Makhachev​​. In order for fans to participate in Saturday’s event, they needed to own at least one Legionfarm NFT.

LeBron Passes Kareem on All-Time Scoring List

King James is now the king of scoring in the NBA. Needing only 19 points to claim the throne, LeBron James sank a 3-pointer in the third quarter of Saturday night’s game against the Golden State Warriors to officially pass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most combined regular-season and postseason points. James, who finished the night with 26 points, now has 44,152 points in regular-season and postseason play.

The latest discussions, according to sources, centered around tweaks to the competitive balance tax, changes to the minimum salary structure, increased pre-arbitration bonus pool offer, and more. Despite the new discussion, the league and the players are still very far off on a new agreement, according to sources.

Super Bowl Viewers Prepare for Epic Ad Slate

Even if football isn’t your thing, the Super Bowl commercial lineup is some of the year’s best entertainment. This year, cryptocurrency companies are expected to take center stage. Additionally, companies like Squarespace tapped superstar celebs, including Zendaya and Outkast‘s André 3000. The running price tag for an ad? Nearly $7 million – that’s more than $233,000 a second.
