Drake Takes Billboard 200 No. 1 Spot with 'For All the Dogs'

Drake’s eighth solo studio album has landed him in a familiar spot. For All the Dogs, which dropped on Oct. 6, surged to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. The album notched 402,000 sales in its first week. Luminate reports that 97% of the activity stemmed from streaming. This marks Drake’s 13th album to take over No. 1. Morgan Wallen, Rod Wave, Olivia Rodrigo, and Zach Bryan round out this week’s top 5.

Wilson, Stewart, & Thomas Nab Unanimous First-team All-WNBA Honors

The WNBA Finals is headed to Game 4. The Liberty handily beat the Aces as they returned to the Barclays Center on Sunday, 87-73. On the same day, the league announced All-WNBA honors. The Liberty’s Breanna Stewart, Aces’ A’ja Wilson, and the Connecticut Sun’s Alyssa Thomas each garnered a unanimous vote to claim a spot. Satou Sabally (Dallas Wings) and Napheesa Collier (Minnesota Lynx) rounded out the starting five. The second team included The Aces’ Kelsey Plum and Jackie Young, the Liberty’s Sabrina Ionescu, the LA Sparks’ Nneka Ogwumike, and the Seattle Storm’s Jewell Loyd.

Caitlin Clark & Iowa Women's Basketball Set New Women's College Hoops Attendance Record

The crowd came out in full force in Iowa on Sunday. The Hawkeyes women’s basketball matchup against DePaul brought out 55,646 fans for the exhibition game. The crowd smashed the new single-game record for women’s college basketball, which previously stood at 29,619 as marked by the 2002 NCAA Championship game between the University of Connecticut and Oklahoma. The game took place outdoors at Iowa’s Kinnick Stadium. Caitlin Clark and the Hawkeyes took the win 94-72.

Taylor Swift Takes No. 1 at the Box Office with 'The Eras Tour' Film

From the stage to the silver screen, Taylor Swift stays on top. After much anticipation, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour opened over the weekend. The film hit theaters one day early due to surging demand. Although the final numbers are not officially in, early estimates indicate that the film took in between $95 and 97 million during its opening weekend. It is expected to have tallied an additional $31-33 million overseas, for a global total of $126-130 million. The final numbers for the opening weekend box office performance will be released on Monday afternoon. However, the initial estimates indicate that Swift will take the top spot for a concert film opening from Justin Bieber.

Kid Cudi Unveils Upcoming 'MOON MAN' Comic

Kid Cudi has a number of projects in the pipeline. The Ohio entertainer announced that he will release a comic book series MOON MAN in January 2024. According to Entertainment Weekly, the series will “tell the story of astronaut Ramon Townsend, who becomes a celebrity after saving his crew from a near-disastrous moon mission.” Cudi will co-write with Kyle Higgins and illustrations will be provided by Marco Locati and Igor Monti.

British Billionaire Jim Ratcliffe Eyes Significant Stake in Manchester United

Manchester United may soon have a new significant stakeholder. ESPN reports that British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe is in talks to purchase a 25% stake in the club. The news comes just one day after Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim withdrew his bid for the team when he was unable to purchase it outright. A source familiar with the negotiations revealed that Ratcliffe seeks decision-making rights that would otherwise not be included for a stakeholder of his size. Currently, the Glazer family owns a 69% stake, but the family seeks an investor to help with the club. Early reports indicate that this is Ratcliffe’s first step towards a full club takeover for the lifelong Man U fan.
