NBA Youngboy Heading to Amazon for New Talk Show

NBA Youngboy is rounding out 2022 on top. The newly inked Motown artist is heading to Amazon, where he will host a talk show in the run-up to his new album. Although the new release doesn’t have a drop date at this point, he confirmed it will be “sometime in January.” The show will be featured on Amazon’s Amp App and is set to feature three guests in its premiere. He joins an all-star set of artists, including Nicki Minaj, Lil Yachty, and Pusha-T to host programs on the platform. The show launches on Friday, Dec. 9.

Jerrod Carmichael Tapped as Host for Revamped Golden Globes 

The Golden Globes are coming back in 2023. After a pause, the coveted television and film awards will return for its 80th edition on Jan. 10. To help usher the event into a new chapter, the Hollywood Foreign Press tapped Jerrod Carmichael as its host. In a statement, Hollywood Foreign Press president Helen Hoehn said, “His comedic talents have entertained and thrilled audiences while providing thought-provoking moments that are so important in the times we live. Jerrod is the special kind of talent this show calls for to kick off the awards season.”

Starbucks Leaps into Web3 with New Rewards Program

Starbucks’ collaboration with Polygon is finally here. The newly minted Starbucks Odyssey launched on Dec. 8 with a small group of consumers. The new program is rooted in a number of “journeys,” which enable customers to collect access to exclusive rewards and special events. The pilot program will integrate user feedback to fuel its future.

Sam Bankman-Fried Will Offer Testimony in Washington

The FTX fallout continues. The company’s founder and CEO Sam Bankman-Fried will head to Washington on Tuesday, where he will offer testimony to the House Financial Services committee. The hearing will focus on the monumental dissolution of the company, which filed for bankruptcy last month.
