Lions Dedicate First Win to Oxford Community

It was an emotional day in Detroit on Sunday as the Lions took on the divisional rival Vikings. And the game ended in dramatic fashion as Jared Goff found rookie Amon-Ra St. Brown in the end zone for the first time as time expired to clinch the 20-19 win. In the postgame conferences, the Lions dedicated their win to the community to the Detroit suburb where a school shooting had occurred earlier in the week. 

NFL Salary Cap on the Rise, Set to Hit $208M in 2022

After taking a hit for the 2021 season, the NFL salary cap is back on the rise. The figure dropped from $198 million in 2019 to $182 million in 2020 due to the impact of COVID-19 on clubs’ bottom lines. However, after a strong financial performance this season, that number is slated to go up to $208 million next year as agreed upon by the NFL and the NFLPA, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero. 

Rich Paul Customizes Line with New Balance

Rich Paul is no stranger to sneaker deals, having negotiated a countless number for his all-star list of celebrity clients that includes LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Draymond Green. But now it’s the Klutch Sports super agent’s turn to customize his own line. Paul has linked with New Balance for an upcoming collection of sneakers and apparel. New Balance notes that the opportunity to collaborate with Paul signals an opportunity for them to “take a new approach” in an effort to stand out in a saturated market.

Mac Jones Teases Apparel Line with MAC10 Trademark Application

Week 13 has been a wild one in the NFL, and all eyes are on Orchard Park for tonight’s Monday night matchup between the Patriots and the Bills. And on Monday morning, Josh Gerben reported New England’s star rookie QB filed a trademark for MAC10, signaling the possible launch of an apparel line. The news comes just days after Jones filed another application securing a trademark for MJ10, a nod to his predecessor’s TB12 moniker.

NFTs Cited as Key Part of Premier League’s Future

European soccer clubs were among the first to adopt NFT technologies, leveraging everything from fan tokens to blockchain-backed tickets to connect with fans in new and innovative ways. Notes from a recent meeting of Premier League executives indicate that the League is looking to follow in the footsteps of the individual teams and has begun to investigate potential collaboration with NFT platforms, such as Socios, to help usher this technology into the future. 

Palace Skateboards and Harrods Link for Limited Line

The skateboard company is continuing its recent string of collaborations with an unlikely partner. Palace has connected with the cornerstone of London luxury for an upcoming limited release, which is set to drop Dec. 10 with a pop-up installation at Harrods Knightbridge and online. The line integrates Harrod’s legacy iconography and will include varsity jackets, beanies, and hoodies. 

Takeoff’s “Apes in Space” NFTs Set to Launch

The Migos rapper has been sporting merch for his upcoming Apes in Space line for a bit now, and on Monday night at 9:00 p.m. EST fans can get in on the newest NFT platform, which includes staking, Metaverse utilities, and virtual land. With an Apes in Space purchase, collectors are entered to go on a “real-life space journey” with the rapper. Although details are unclear, many believe that the winner could go on a SpaceX journey with Takeoff.

Lewis Hamilton Wins Saudi Arabia GP to Tie Verstappen in Season Standings

It is a race to the finish in the Formula 1 season. Lewis Hamilton drew even with Max Verstappen in the points standings with his second straight victory at Sunday’s Saudi Arabia GP. The season rounds out this weekend at the Abu Dhabi GP, and Hamilton and Verstappen will battle for the top slot. Verstappen currently holds a conditional lead as he has won more races outright this season. 

Alabama Rises to the Top, CFB Playoff Picture Set

Rolling off of their SEC Championship victory over Georgia, Alabama has taken over the top spot in college football. Additionally, the playoff picture took shape with Michigan, Georgia, and Cincinnati rounding out the top 4. The Bulldogs dropped to No. 3 following their first loss of the season.
