Warriors Derail Suns’ Streak

All eyes were on the Chase Center on Friday night. After a stunning “no loss November,” the Devin Booker-less Suns dropped their first game since Oct. 26. Steph Curry and the Warriors beat Phoenix 118-96, putting an end to their franchise-best 18-game winning streak.

Beth Mowins Debuts as First Woman to Call a National NBA Broadcast

Beth Mowins made history on Friday night, becoming the first woman to call play-by-play for a nationally televised NBA game. Mowins took to the booth for ESPN’s broadcast of the matchup of the Philadelphia 76ers and Atlanta Hawks. Mowins may be the first, but she is just one of a number of extraordinarily talented women coming through the ranks across the country, so she surely will not be the last.

Iman Shumpert’s New SKIMS Campaign Is a Family Affair

Hot off of his Dancing with the Stars win, Iman Shumpert cozied up with his wife, singer and actress Teyana Taylor, and their daughters Junie and Rue for the most recent campaign for Kim Kardashian’s SKIMS brand. The partnership is part of the newest line, which features cozy items for the whole family. The “Cozy” line drops on the brand’s website on Dec 7.

Quinn Ewers Enters Transfer Portal, Eyes Texas Return

Quinn Ewers was one of 2022’s top recruits; however, with the launch of NIL, the quarterback graduated early from his Texas high school and headed to Ohio State to cash in. Ewers announced on Friday that he will be leaving Columbus and entering the transfer portal and early reports indicate that he’s hoping to return to his home state for his college career with his sites set on Texas, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M.

Cardi B Announced as Inaugural Creative Director in Residence at Playboy

The rapper and style icon was announced as the legacy brand’s first-ever Creative Director in Residence on Friday. In addition, she will serve as founding creative director and member of its creator-led platform, Centerfold. Additionally, she will co-launch a line of merchandise as part of the partnership. Cardi revealed the news via her Instagram in a post in which she deemed the collaboration “a dream come true.”

Utah Blows Out Oregon for Pac-12 Title

Championship weekend is upon us. While Saturday has a stacked slate of games – including the SEC showdown between No. 1 Georgia and No. 3 Alabama – the action heated up on Friday night on the West Coast as No. 14 Utah beat No. 10 Oregon for the Pac-12 title. The Utes also beat the Ducks just two weeks ago, knocking them out of playoff contention. 

Swarovski Creates Custom Helmet for Halo’s 20th Anniversary

The iconic game turns 20 this year, and to commemorate the milestone Swarovski is creating a blinged-out version of the Master Chief’s Mjolnir Helmet. There will only be 117 produced in homage to the Master Chief’s Spartan number. Swarovski is teaming up with Xbox to give away the coveted collectibles to some lucky fans.

Athletes Gamify NFTs with Players Only Platform

Founded by an all-star lineup that includes NBA players Jerami Grant and Gary Harris and MLB star Lance McCullers, Players Only is a collection of 9,990 distinct basketball, baseball, and football players,  is revolutionizing the NFT game.
