The Renaissance Tour has arrived in movie theaters and the reviews are magnificent. Beyoncé’s concert film opened to a $21 million North American performance at the box office, making it the weekend’s top performer. Ahead of the debut, AMC released guidelines for fans to moderate the obstruction of tour-inspired paraphernalia, including wings.

Alabama, Michigan, Texas, and Washington are CFP-bound

Ahead of the busy bowl season, Alabama, Michigan, Texas, and Washington were revealed as the four teams headed to the College Football Playoff. On New Year’s Day, Alabama and Michigan will show down in the Rose Bowl Presented by Prudential, while Texas and Washington will face off in the Allstate Sugar BowlFlorida State was snubbed, despite their perfect 13-0 season. They’ll take on Georgia in the Orange Bowl, which dropped out of the CFP following its Saturday loss to Alabama.

Cardi B Makes Runway Debut with Balenciaga

The stars were out in Los Angeles for Balenciaga’s pre-fall 2024 show. Kim Kardashian, Teyana Taylor, and Kaytranada were among the stars in attendance. However, it was Cardi B who stole the show, making her runway debut in a stunning royal blue fur. The show also included custom collabs with chic organic retailer Erewhon and famed jeweler Jacob & Co.

NCAA Commissioners Head to the Capitol to Discuss NIL

The bosses of the country’s biggest NCAA athletic conferences headed to Washington this week to discuss the future of NIL. The commissioners of the Big Ten, Big 12, ACC and SEC each made an appearance to lobby politicians on both sides of the aisle, claiming that federal legislation is required to avoid “permanent damage” to college athletics. The commissioners also jointly appeared on CNN on Sunday to reiterate their plea.

Bitcoin Surges Past $40K

Crypto is on the rise. Bitcoin rose past the $40,600 marker on Sunday for the first time since May 2022. The cryptocurrency has been on the rise in recent months with rumors of a Bitcoin ETF on the horizon. Analysts also credit cuts to the Federal rate for helping drive up the value.

Dr. Pepper Crowns Two Lucky Winners After Dramatic Halftime Showdown

Everyone loves a little halftime entertainment. Over the weekend, two lucky football fans took home $100,000 courtesy of Dr. Pepper. At Saturday’s Big 12 championship, Gavin White of Ohio State and Ryan Georgian of Penn tossed footballs at a bin but came out dead even.  While Georgian seemed to take home the W in double OT, social media viewers quickly noted that there was a discrepancy in the scoring – and Gavin had, in fact, won. As a result, Dr. Pepper distributed a check to each participant.
