Becky Hammon, Las Vegas Aces Closing in on Coaching Deal

WNBA veteran Becky Hammon is reportedly setting her sights on returning to the league. The Spurs assistant coach, who is the first woman to ever assume head coaching responsibilities in an NBA game, is nearing a deal with the Las Vegas Aces according to Shams Charania. The deal is reported to make Hammon the highest-paid coach in the league. Current coach Bill Laimbeer is expected to take a different role in the team’s front office.

Kyrie Irving is preparing for his first start of the season, expected to come in early January. But in the meantime, the Nets guard debuted a new Boundless in Divinity sweatsuit for HER KAI & I. The brand, whose vision is to generate opportunities for community development and support, was co-founded by the seven-time All-Star and his sister, Asia.

Floyd Mayweather Sets Sights on 2022 Return to the Ring

Floyd Mayweather has been living a whole lot of life in retirement, but on Friday one of the best boxers to ever fight will announce that he’s heading back into the ring. Mayweather is teaming up with Frontrow TMT and Undisputed to be part of the first fight ever to take place on a helicopter pad at the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah Dubai. In addition to the fight itself, it is expected to bring together various exciting aspects of new technologies, including augmented reality and a commemorative NFT. His opponent for the fight has yet to be announced.

Jackie Robinson Questionnaire Heading to Auction

Jackie Robinson changed the game of baseball forever, and pieces of his legacy are some of the most coveted collectibles in the hobby. Heritage Auctions teased an upcoming item, which is projected to garner more than $1 million. The one-page, handwritten questionnaire is marked with a 1946 date and was part of the American Baseball Bureau‘s Bill Weiss‘ player profiles for his ongoing series of baseball guides. In his answers, Robinson forecasted precisely what he set out to do, citing his ambition in baseball was “to open doors for Negroes in organized ball.” While many questionnaires have been sold over the years, this is the first to include the Dodgers‘ icon. The item will go to auction on February 26-27.

New York Gallery Manager Loses 8 Bored Apes in Phishing Attack

Everyone wants to get their hands on a Bored Ape Yacht Club. The highly coveted NFTs recently surpassed CryptoPunks with the highest floor price in the NFT game. One unlucky collector, Todd Kramer who runs Ross+Kramer art gallery, claims to have been the target of a phishing scam and lost his NFT collection, which included eight Bored Apes and seven Mutant Apes, estimated to be worth $1.9 million. In response, OpenSea has frozen the assets as all parties try to recover the stolen Apes. 

Tracy McGrady Announces OBA, 1-on-1 Professional League

The seven-time NBA All-Star revealed on the NBA League Pass show HooperVision that he is in the process of creating a one-on-one league. Ones Basketball Association will be a nationwide league open to hoopers, 18 and up, McGrady told the show’s hosts, Jamal Crawford and Quentin Richardson.
