Mac Jones Gives the Gift of Bitcoin
The Patriots rookie QB gave his offensive line the ultimate gift this season. Mac Jones showed his appreciation for their blocking, which has resulted in only 25 sacks, by giving the big boys on the line the gift of Bitcoin. Jones told Bitcoin Magazine, “I’ve been studying Bitcoin for a while now, and I just knew I had to give some to my roommates.”
NHL Postpones Return to Action
Like all things, COVID is wreaking havoc on the NHL. The league shut down operations last week to accommodate the mass cancellation of games. While it was scheduled to return to action over the weekend, the NHL announced yesterday that it will push the date back to Tuesday, Dec. 28., with teams returning to practice on Dec. 26.
A New LeBron James Retro Is In the Works
Christmas may be coming early for fans of LeBron James and his signature series of Nike Basketball bangers: The beloved Nike Zoom LeBron 2 sneaker is reportedly set for a comeback. As first reported by Brendan Dunne at Complex, the 2004 favorite is expected to receive the retro treatment for the first time at retail in 2022. Tucked away in the Nike vault for almost two decades, the second signature shoe from LeBron James is expected to return for the first time ever next year.
Easypost Makes Most of Bowl Cancellation
The Hawaii Bowl is often the only major US-based sporting event on Dec. 24, and the game between Hawaii and Memphis on ESPN was slated to generate an immense amount of exposure for title sponsor EasyPost, a San Francisco-based shipping API that helps the big names in the industry go. When the game was cancelled, its namesake sponsor found a way to make the most of it. The company took to Twitter to post about giving its social media guy an all-expenses-paid trip to Honolulu snap pictures of its logo on… well, an empty football field, and the results were hilarious.

BAD ETF Lets You Invest in Booze, Betting, & Cannabis
There’s a new exchange-traded fund (ETF) that debuted on the NYSE on Dec. 22, and it provides a way to invest in some of the economy’s leading vices, from alcohol to gambling to cannabis. Literally listed under stock symbol $BAD — meant to represent Betting, Alcohol, and Drugs — the new large-cap fund launched by “The BAD Investment Company” is equally weighted with stocks split between three industries: 1) betting and casino gaming; 2) alcohol and cannabis; and 3) pharmaceuticals and biotech.

And this year, across the league, teams will sport Nike City Jerseys as teams match up for today’s epic slate of games.
