Suns Stay Perfect in November with Win Over Warriors

No loss November is complete for the Phoenix Suns. Phoenix went into Tuesday’s much-anticipated matchup against a red-hot Golden State without a loss since October 26th. Deandre Ayton led the Suns with 24 points, as they won 104-96, notching their 17th straight victory. 

Azzi Fudd Signs with Steph Curry’s SC30 Inc.

In 2018, a 15-year old Azzi Fudd was just one of two girls who had ever been invited to Curry’s SC30 camp, where she took home the three-point title and even challenged Steph himself to a shoot-out. Now the UConn freshman has signed with Curry’s SC30 Inc. In a far-reaching sponsorship deal, Curry will also personally mentor Fudd.

Former Disney Chief Iger Rumored to be Interested in the Suns

Despite the on-court success of the Phoenix Suns, the back office continues to be in turmoil as owner Robert Sarver remains under investigation by the NBA for allegations of racism and misogyny. However, on Tuesday, reports emerged that former Disney CEO Bob Iger is interested in purchasing the team for a price tag over $2 billion. Iger stepped down from his role in 2020 and will wrap up his extended engagement as a member of the board later this year.  Suns star Chris Paul has a long-standing relationship with Iger, whom he counts as a mentor.

Beyoncé Goes Back to School with Halls of Ivy Teaser 

The queen tapped Adidas athletes James Harden and Jalen Green to help her tease her upcoming Ivy Park drop, Halls of Ivy. The epic teaser, released on Tuesday, is set in the hallowed halls of a university and includes cameos from her daughters Blue Ivy and Rumi, Kobe and Vanessa Bryant’s daughter Natalia, and Ryan Phillipe and Reese Witherspoon’s children Ava and Deacon. The line debuts on Dec. 9.

NFL Jumps Into Metaverse with Roblox Partnership

Following in the steps of Nike, the NFL announced this week that it is making moves into the metaverse. The shield revealed a virtual store on the Roblox, starting first with AFC paraphernalia and a launch for the NFC is scheduled to take place today. The gaming platform targets children and will be the perfect place for the NFL to usher in the next generation of fans. 

RGIII Announces Forthcoming Tell-All “Surviving Washington”

Robert Griffith III is embracing his post-playing career. Earlier this year, he inked a deal with ESPN where he serves as an NFL and college football analyst. The 31-year-old dropped a video teaser for his upcoming book “Surviving Washington,” which the second overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft promises will provide details on his experiences of “medical mismanagement,” as well as insight into the sexual harassment that he witnessed that was at the center of a long-standing investigation. The book is scheduled for release in August 2022. 

Verified Republic Realm Pays Record $4.6M for Plot in The Sandbox

Real estate investments have gone virtual. Just one week after a record-setting $2.3 digital plot of land was sold in The Sandbox, metaverse real estate developer Republic Realm shattered that record with a $4.6 million purchase.

When looking back on 2021, one of the biggest stories is the meteoric rise of NBA Top Shot. And now, avid collectors have a means by which to display their beloved collection for all to see. Dapper Labs and Infinite Objects debuted their integrated product on Tuesday, which allows individuals to print their collections straight from their Dapper Wallet.

NBAPA and Blake Griffin Team Up for 450 Gives

On Friday, the NBA Players Association and Brooklyn Nets Blake Griffin launched 450 Gives, a 14-day giveaway and digital and experiential activation, outside the Nets’ practice facility in the neighborhood of Sunset Park. The initiative showcases Black-owned businesses and encourages fans to “give black” this holiday season.

EBay Invests in Shoe Authentication with Sneaker Con Purchase

Over the last few years, eBay has witnessed a major increase in sneaker traffic on its site. And to ensure that sneakerheads are getting what they pay for, the online auction site announced the purchase of Sneaker Con’s shoe authentication business, which they had begun to utilize last year. The details of the deal have not yet been released.
