Netflix Lines up New Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader Docuseries

Netflix announced Thursday a new series centered around the number one fans of America’s Team. Called “AMERICA’S SWEETHEARTS: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders,” the program follows the 2023-24 Dallas Cowboys cheering unit from start to finish. Starting off with auditions and training camp and continuing through the NFL season, the streaming platform ordered seven episodes that are 45 minutes in length. “We went into this understanding that the opportunity to transparently share the journey of our season, and the emotions, challenges, and joy experienced along the way, is exactly what our fans and viewers would want,” said Charlotte Jones, Dallas Cowboys Executive Vice President/Chief Brand Officer and Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders President. Emmy Award-winning director Greg Whiteley and Boardwalk Pictures, the team behind “Cheer” and “Last Chance U,” are behind this forthcoming program.

Tribeca Film Festival Unveils Upcoming Lineup

Organizers for the Tribeca Film Festival released the event lineup for the annual New York showcase on Wednesday, which runs from June 5-16. Schedule to premiere is a documentary about the Brat Pack, a film starring Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone, and projects featuring Prince, Dolly Parton, and Carlos Santana. The opening night presentation is the documentary “Diane von Furstenberg: Woman in Charge,” directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Trish Dalton. In total, the festival is expected to show 103 feature films from 114 filmmakers across 48 countries. The schedule features 86 world premieres, two international premieres, six North American premieres, and eight New York premieres.

Megan Rapinoe & Sue Bird's A Touch More to Adapt 'Cleat Cute' Into Series

Thanks to Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe, the LGBTQ romance novel “Cleat Cute” is getting a TV series. According to Variety, the sports power couple’s production company A Touch More has linked up with indie TV studio Future Shack Entertainment to bring the bestselling book from author Meryl Wilsner to life. The story is about a young soccer player adjusting to being the new rookie, her goals of making the national team, and a budding romance with her captain. “‘Cleat Cute'” will not shy away from the messiness, occasional frustration, and undeniable beauty that come with loving the game and the players within it,” said Bird and Rapinoe. No word yet on when “Cleat Cute” will premiere.

Pat McAfee Taps Bill Belichick For NFL Draft Show

Former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick will join ESPN host Pat McAfee for a special NFL draft show. Airing on opening night of the draft, “The Pat McAfee Show Draft Spectacular,” will broadcast on YouTube and ESPN+. The decorated head coach has always been on the selecting side of the draft, however, Belichick told McAfee that he looks forward to observing from another perspective. “Draft weekend’s always an exciting time for everybody — for the teams that are building their teams and for the fans and for everybody involved in it, so you know it’s a great event and, yeah, I’m looking forward to seeing it, you know, from the other side,” said the six-time Super Bowl champion. The NFL draft will be held in Detroit from April 25-27.

Kid Cudi Added To Coachella Weekend 2

In a note to fans on Instagram, Kid Cudi confirmed that he’s been added to Coachella’s Weekend 2 lineup. Per Billboard, Cudi will perform a 40-minute set inside the Sahara tent from 5:10 p.m. to 5:50 p.m. PST on April 21. Cudi’s, whose real name is Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi, Coachella act arrives shortly before the start of his Insano Engage the Rage World Tour this summer, which features Pusha T, Jaden, and Earthgang. The jaunt kicks off  June 28 at the Moody Center in Austin, TX, and ends with a March 2025 performance at the O2 Arena in London. Also scheduled to perform on the festival’s final day include Doja Cat, Lil Yachty, Jhené Aiko Victoria Monét, Diplo, and Tems.
