Lewis Hamilton Brings Vegan Burger Chain to the Big Apple

Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton is bringing his plant-based eatery to the United States. According to Sports Illustrated, the seven-time champion is set to open his vegan burger spot, Neat in Nolita, in Manhattan on Monday, April 17. Hamilton backed the brand as a way to make meatless options both accessible and affordable to a larger audience. This endeavor also has the support of Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio.

Kevin Durant Grants a First Look at the KD16

On this week’s episode of The ETCs, Eddie Gonzalez reminded KD that he usually unveils the newest iteration of his signature shoe during the NBA playoffs. As the Suns set to kick off the first round of the playoffs against the Clippers, KD stayed true to his routine. Durant offered a first look at the Nike KD16 on his Instagram. The pic offered a sneak peek at three different colorways of the upcoming shoe set against a pristine desert background. The timeline for their release has not yet been announced.

NBA Hands Dallas Mavericks $750K Fine

The Dallas Mavericks’ risky gamble is going to cost them. On Friday, the NBA announced it has fined the team $750,000, stating they violated the team’s resting policy. A number of the Mavericks’ key starters sat for a significant portion of the game, resulting in a 115-112 loss. With the L, they were consequently eliminated from playoff contention, thus improving their odds in next month’s draft lottery. In a statement, the NBA argues, “The Dallas Mavericks’ decision to restrict key players from fully participating in an elimination game last Friday against Chicago undermined the integrity of our sport,” said Joe Dumars, NBA Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations. “The Mavericks’ actions failed our fans and our league.”

Lionel Messi Goes Solo for New Louis Vuitton Campaign

Paris Saint-Germain striker Lionel Messi sat down for his second modeling installment for Louis Vuitton. On Friday, the luxury fashion brand unveiled shots of the football legend showing off luggage. The shoot is part of its new “Horizons Never End” campaign. Various shots include Messi inside of an airport and posing on an airplane runway, with the luxury goods in tow. Future Reveals New Cannabis Line ‘Evol’

Future is expanding his entrepreneurial empire to cannabis. Billboard reported the Grammy-winning rapper and Carma HoldCo are teaming up to debut a collection of THC, CBD, and Delta 8/9 products called Evol. Fans can expect to start selecting their strain of choice on May 23 exclusively in California. “As an artist, I strive to enlighten the world with different perspectives and experiences, whether through my lyrics, live performances, or other creative endeavors,” Future said of the occassion. “With Carma HoldCo, I can apply that creativity to build a new cannabis lifestyle brand that resonates within my community and delivers a high-quality product to my fans and a much wider audience.”

Rory McIlroy Faces $3M Fine for Tournament Absence

Rory McIlroy is under fire for skipping RBC Heritage, and the PGA is handing down an expensive punishment. After withdrawing from the competition, the pro golfer learned that he will have to pay out $3 million, or a quarter of his Player Impact Bonus from 2022. According to PGA Tour rules, it marked the second time he missed a designated event prompting an extreme penalty. Athletes are allowed just one skip absence designated events for personal and professional obligations and the 33-year-old already missed the Sentry Tournament of Champions at the start of the year.

‘Super Mario Bros.’ Crosses $500M, Becomes Top-grossing Video Game Film of All Time

Only one film has crossed the $500M threshold at the global box office for 2023, and it has only been out for a week and a half. Per Variety, The Super Mario Bros. movie has made roughly $508.7M worldwide. The milestone also makes it the most profitable video game film in history.
