The fifth and final season of Stranger Things is coming next year, Netflix confirmed on social media Wednesday. The streaming giant dropped the news on Nov. 6, which it deemed “Stranger Things Day.” While the platform didn’t confirm a precise premiere date, it did share the names of all eight episodes, giving fans some fodder to suggest how some storylines might wrap up. Apart from the titles, the announcement also confirmed that the new season will pick up in the fall of 1987, more than a year from when the fourth season ended in Spring 1986.

The CFP Selection Committee shared its first Top 25 rankings of the 2024-25 season on Tuesday night, and in the inaugural poll since expanding the field to 12 teams, the undefeated Oregon Ducks (9-0) claim the No. 1 spot. The Ohio State Buckeyes (7-1) and Georgia Bulldogs (7-1) sit in second and third, respectively, with one loss apiece, while the Miami Hurricanes (9-0) take the fourth spot despite also boasting an undefeated record. The Texas Longhorns round out the top five of the first-ever 12-team CFP bracket.

A new report revealed that the global wellness industry’s valuation skyrocketed in 2023, estimating the total value to be $6.32 trillion, a 25% increase from 2019. The valuation from the Global Wellness Institute was calculated as an index of 11 sectors, with personal care and beauty boasting a valuation of $1.21 trillion alone. After that, the next two largest categories are “healthy eating, nutrition, and weight loss,” which totals $1.09 trillion, and “physical activity,” which adds up to $1.06 trillion.

Now, the company has levied a massive $500 million lawsuit against the French company Believe and its subsidiary TuneCore, alleging that it has pirated a massive catalog of music across streaming services such as Spotify and Apple Music from which it is unduly profiting. The case contains a number of violations, including allegations that Believe uploaded fraudulent versions of popular songs using names very similar to the original artists like “Arriana Gramde.” 

Kamala Harris officially conceded the 2024 US Presidential election to Donald Trump on Wednesday. In the wake of the historic election, preliminary data suggests that viewership of the night’s coverage across all major news networks dropped 28% to 36.6 million from 50.7 million in 2020. Fox News led the primetime slot with 9.8 million viewers, while MSNBC took second with 5.5 million.

The US Presidential Election unleashed cascading effects across multiple industries. After setting a new high of $75,507.06 on Tuesday’s Election Night, Bitcoin briefly eclipsed the $76,000 mark on Wednesday afternoon. The hike in price comes as a Trump administration promises to loosen regulations on cryptocurrencies and spur widespread adoption of crypto holdings.

Nvidia took over Apple as the most valuable company in the world at the end of trading on Tuesday. Nvidia tallied a value of over $3.51 trillion as compared to the Cupertino company’s valuation of $3.39 trillion. The technology giant has driven huge gains in the past year due to the rising promise of artificial intelligence. Nvidia, which also briefly surpassed Apple in June, saw its stock continue to climb on Wednesday, up over 4% at final bell.

The silver screen version of Michael Jackson‘s life will hit screens in 2025. However, Billboard reports that the Antoine Fuqua-directed biopic, fronted by Jackson’s nephew Jaafar, will delay its opening six months, with the new release date slated for Oct. 3, 2025. Fuqua shared insights into his creative process on stage at April’s Comic Con, noting the story’s complexity and extensive soundtrack.
