Following an award-winning rookie WNBA season, Paige Bueckers is reportedly set to star in the upcoming sports film Jess & Pearl, developed by Apple Original Films from an original idea by Zahir McGhee. The movie, produced by David Bernad, Lindsay Kagawa Colas, and Tommy Alter, with Bueckers as executive producer, explores the intense friendship and rivalry between two women’s basketball stars as they navigate fame, competition, and the pressures of college athletics.

Alphabet and Meta both topped Wall Street’s revenue expectations in their third-quarter reports on Wednesday, but saw sharply different market reactions. Alphabet’s stock jumped more than 6% after reporting $102.4 billion in Q3 revenue, the company’s first time cracking $100 billion in a single quarter, driven by strong growth in its Google Cloud business. In contrast, Meta shares fell by as much as 9% as the company took a sizable one-time charge related to deferred tax assets.

Tubi has partnered with Kevin Hart’s production company, Hartbeat, to release four feature films from leading YouTube creators in 2025. The first two titles include Sundown, a supernatural thriller written, directed by, and starring Kinigra Deon; and 85 South: Dead End, a satirical horror-comedy from DC Young Fly, Chico Bean, and Karlous Miller of The 85 South Show. Two additional films will be announced later. 

The Federal Reserve has cut its benchmark interest rate by a quarter-point for the second time this year, aiming to support consumers and businesses amid slowing job growth and persistent inflation. The decision comes as inflation rose to 3% in September, above the Fed’s 2% target, while economic activity remains steady, but the labor market has cooled. The central bank’s next rate decision is set for Dec. 10.

Variety reports that The White Lotus Season 4 will film in France, with locations being scouted in Paris and along the French Riviera. While HBO hasn’t officially confirmed the news, the report states the season’s story will primarily unfold in the South of France, with part of the plot set in Paris. Production is expected to begin next year. Unlike previous seasons, which were filmed at Four Seasons resorts in Hawaii, Sicily, and Thailand, Season 4 will move away from that partnership as HBO has not renewed its deal with the hotel chain.

FIFA and streaming platform DAZN have teamed up to relaunch FIFA+, branding it as the “global home of football.” The revamped service will feature live and on-demand matches, highlights, and exclusive content from over 100 national teams and club leagues, along with multilingual news coverage. However, it won’t stream live World Cup matches, as broadcasting rights for the 2026 tournament in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico are already licensed elsewhere.

Patti LaBelle has sold the income stream from her music royalties to Primary Wave, covering her entire catalog of 18 studio albums and three live albums. Financial terms weren’t disclosed, but the deal includes hits like “Lady Marmalade,” “On My Own,” and “New Attitude.” This marks another major acquisition for Primary Wave, which has recently added catalogs from Biggie Smalls, Peter Green, and The Cars

ESPN and Athletes Unlimited announced a new three-year broadcast extension on Wednesday that expands ESPN’s coverage of AU’s professional softball, basketball, and volleyball leagues. Beginning in 2026, ESPN will air 50 exclusive AU Softball games each year, including the first-ever professional softball game to be broadcast on ABC. The deal also increases visibility for AU’s basketball and volleyball leagues, with all 24 games from each season airing on ESPN platforms, reinforcing ESPN’s investment in women’s sports and top female athletes.

The Allstate Next Wave National Showcase has unveiled its roster of top-ranked Black female soccer players for the inaugural event, including Avia Hughes and Jayla Walton, set for Nov. 22–25 at Prairie View A&M University. Presented by Allstate, Black Star, and the Black Women’s Player Collective, with TOGETHXR as a content partner, the showcase aims to spotlight and elevate Black women in soccer. Organizers also introduced Growing the Game, a player-inspired collection designed by Washington Spirit Creative Director Domo Wells that celebrates representation and empowerment in the sport.

Maluma and Roselyn Sánchez will co-host the 2025 Latin Grammy Awards, airing live on Nov. 13 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. This marks Maluma’s first time hosting and Sánchez’s eighth. The 26th annual Latin Grammys will also debut a new visual media field, including the Best Music for Visual Media category, along with a new Best Roots Song award.
