After dropping on Monday morning, his seventh studio album Chromakopia opened with 85.66 million streams on the Spotify global charts to become the biggest hip-hop album debut in 2024 thus far. Tyler, the Creator also dethroned Taylor Swift to take over the top spot on Spotify’s global Top Artists chart for the first time since the chart launched, as he simultaneously occupied the top 14 spots on the service’s domestic single charts throughout Tuesday with tracks from the new album.
Cooper Flagg Becomes First Men’s CBB Player to Sign with Gatorade
Duke freshman phenom Cooper Flagg has made NIL history as the first men’s college basketball player to sign with Gatorade, the company said on Tuesday. Flagg, who was named the sports drink company’s 2024 Best Male Player of the Year following his season season in high school, joins a stacked lineup of Gatorade college athletes, including Paige Bueckers, JuJu Watkins, and Shedeur Sanders. The rising Duke star makes his regular season debut on Nov. 4 when the Blue Devils host Maine to kick off the 2024-25 season.
Tina Knowles Set to Release Memoir in 2025
One of the most famous mothers in entertainment is sharing her story. Tina Knowles, mother of Beyoncé and Solange Knowles, announced Tuesday that her memoir, Matriarch, is arriving next spring. “I’m now ready to share my story with all of you, so that we can all celebrate these themes of strength, motherhood, Black pride, and identity,” a part of her announcement read. Publisher Random House described the memoir as the story of “a determined, self-possessed, self-aware and wise woman who raised and inspired some of the great artists of our time.” Matriarch is available for pre-order with an April 2025 launch.
ESPN to Give Monday Night Football a ‘Simpsons’ Makeover with Animated Alt-cast
The Monday Night Football game on Dec. 9 is getting animated. ESPN announced Tuesday that for the showdown between the Cincinnati Bengals and Dallas Cowboys, the game will be transformed in real-time to mirror The Simpsons using Sony’s Beyond Sports Technology. The contest will take place in Springfield’s Atoms Stadium, with all the players replaced by dozens of animated characters based on those from the iconic series. The Simpsons Funday Football alternate telecast will stream on Disney+, ESPN+, and NFL+.
JuJu Watkins Expands Portfolio with NYX Professional Makeup Deal
JuJu Watkins just keeps adding to her NIL portfolio. On Tuesday, the USC women’s basketball guard announced via Instagram that she is NYX Professional Makeup’s newest ambassador. It was a strong third quarter for Adidas, with the sportswear brand reporting a 10% sales growth with €6.44 billion ($6.95 billion) made during the July-September period. As a result of the spike in sales, the company adjusted its positive yearly outlook and the stock ticked up in trading. Adidas, which boasts partnerships with Bad Bunny and Lionel Messi, points to improved brand imaging for growing sales in North America, as well as the ongoing demand for sneakers like the Samba and Gazelle.

The Wayans Brothers Reunite for New ‘Scary Movie’
Marlon Wayans confirmed via Instagram on Tuesday that he and his brothers, Shawn and Keenen Ivory, are returning to the Scary Movie franchise with a fresh reboot. This will be the first major project for the brothers in 18 years and it will be an original script. The forthcoming project marks the sixth film in the franchise and will begin shooting next year with a 2025 target release. While Miramax is the studio behind the franchise, Paramount Pictures will distribute the film worldwide.
