In another endeavor to launch his acting career, Bad Bunny has joined the cast of Adam Sandler’s sequel to Happy Gilmore. The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported the news but did not divulge what the superstar’s actual role will be. Bad Bunny also recently secured a role in Darren Aronofsky’s crime thriller Caught Stealing from Sony Pictures. Sandler, who also recruited NFL star Travis Kelce to be in the movie, confirmed via Instagram Monday that production of the Happy Gilmore 2 has begun.

Orlando Magic Joins VC Fund, Expanding Relationship with Lead
In an effort to expand the team’s footprint in the venture capitalist space, the Orlando Magic are joining the Lead One VC fund as a venture partner, joining FC Cincinnati as the second major US team to join the shareholder group that focuses on sports and health. According to Sportico, Lead is the pre-seed stage investment fund from Lead, an Orlando-based firm founded by members of the Dassler family, the same individuals who started Adidas. The Magic first partnered with Lead ahead of the 2022-23 season in an “innovation partnership.”

Legendary Formula 1 car designer Adrian Newey is joining Aston Martin Racing as Managing Technical Partner next year, the company announced Tuesday. In his new role, which also sees him become a shareholder of the team, Newey will supervise the team’s 2026 car design in accordance with F1’s all-new technical codes. Per ESPN, Newey’s five-year contract is reportedly worth £30 million ($39.2 million) per year. Lauded by many as one of the greatest engineers in F1 history, cars designed by the Englishman have won 12 World Constructors’ and 13 World Drivers’ championships.
Legendary Comedian Larry David Announces Fall Tour
Legendary comedian Larry David is going on tour this fall, bringing A Conversation with Larry David to 10 cities. The Variety exclusive says the jaunt begins on Sept. 20 in Denver and will make stops in San Francisco, Philadelphia, and Chicago before concluding in Hollywood, Florida, on Dec. 5. Live Nation is producing the tour, describing the show as an “informal discussion about [David’s] time on Seinfeld, Curb, and everything in between.”
Nas to Extend Las Vegas Residency with 3 February Shows
Nas recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of his debut project, Illmatic, with a three-show residency at Wynn Las Vegas over Labor Day Weekend, where he performed alongside the Las Vegas Philharmonic. The veteran emcee apparently enjoyed his experience because Nas has added another trio of concerts scheduled for Feb. 5, 7, and 8, 2025. The shows will be at the same venue and will once again feature the Las Vegas Philharmonic. Tickets for the 1,400-person capacity venue go on sale on Sept. 13 at 10 a.m. PT and start at $69.95 for balcony seating.
Van Gogh Painting Expected to Fetch Up to $50M at Auction
Les canots amarrés (Moored Boats), a painting by Vincent van Gogh, will head to auction for the first time in 30 years at Christie’s Hong Kong. Per Christie’s, if it sells for the expected HK$230 million to HK$380 million (about $30 million to $50 million), it would become the most expensive piece from the Dutch artist’s two-year stint in Paris. Per Artnet, Italian actress Edy Vessel purchased the piece at Sotheby’s London in 1991; however, it’s currently being sold by Vessel’s daughter, Princess Camilla, who acquired it through a family trust.
Sony Unveils New PlayStation 5 Pro
During a special technical event on Tuesday, Sony confirmed the upcoming launch of the PlayStation 5 Pro console. Dropping on Nov. 7 for $699.99, some updated features from the regular PlayStation 5 include a larger GPU for quicker rendering during gameplay and advanced ray tracing, meaning game scenes will appear more realistic and immersive. “It’s the most powerful console we’ve ever built,” promised lead architect Mark Cerny.
