Apple has officially shared the date of its next big launch event. With the tagline “It’s Glowtime,” the Big Tech company’s fall event is set for Sept. 9 at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park in Cupertino. According to Forbes, the tech firm is expected to announce its latest iPhone 16 models, Apple Watches, and AirPods alongside updated Apple Intelligence software features to draw anticipation for the new devices.

Incoming Duke men’s basketball freshman and projected top NBA draft pick Cooper Flagg and New Balance have agreed to a major NIL deal. In addition to appearing in the brand’s marketing and lifestyle campaigns, the 6-9 Flagg is expected to participate in community initiatives, focusing on programs servicing adolescent athletes. Other players on New Balance’s basketball roster include Cameron Brink, Kawhi Leonard, Jamal Murray, and Zach LaVine.

A New York Yankees jersey worn by Babe Ruth sold for $24.12 million on Sunday, shattering the record for the most expensive piece of sports memorabilia sold at auction. Per CNN, Ruth wore the uniform when he “called shot” during Game 3 of the 1932 World Series against the Chicago Cubs. The previous record for the most-paid sports collectible came in 2022 when fellow Yankee Mickey Mantle’s 1952 rookie card fetched $12.6 million in 2022.

Post Malone has a reason to celebrate, as Billboard reports his debut country album F-1 Trillion takes the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart with 250,000 equivalent album units sold nationwide in the week ending Aug. 22. This feat makes it the sixth top 10 ranking of the Grammy nominee’s career and the third time claiming the No. 1 spot.

Nike is celebrating Naomi Osaka’s return to the US Open this year with a new ready-to-wear collection. Designed by the same creative behind Osaka’s US Open match outfits, Yoon Ahn’s looks feature “a new take on old-school, tennis-inspired looks,” according to the Sunday release. The Nike Women by Yoon collection drops on Aug. 27, while Osaka, a two-time US Open champion, plays her opening-round match on Tuesday afternoon.

On Monday, Jordan Brand officially welcomed two USC football players — safety Zion Branch and wide receiver Zachariah Branch — as its first NIL college football athletes. The brothers won’t be able to wear Jordan merchandise on the field, as USC is a Nike-sponsored school, but expect the duo to sport a fair share of apparel with the Jumpman logo off the field. Other football players signed with Jordan Brand include NFL players Dak Prescott, Jalen Hurts, and Maxx Crosby.

Angie Martinez is set to make her directorial debut behind a doc centered on hip-hop legend DJ Clark Kent. Exclusively reported by The Hollywood Reporter, God’s Favorite DJ: The Story of DJ Clark Kent will include cameos by Jay-Z, DJ Khaled, DJ D-Nice, and more. “Her entire career has been rooted in telling stories in a beautiful & meaningful way. Angie is a true icon of hip hop and we are very lucky to have her guiding this project,” said Clark Kent in a statement.

CeeDee Lamb is heading into the 2024-25 NFL season a paid man. According to numerous reports, the three-time Pro Bowl WR and the Dallas Cowboys agreed to a record four-year, $136 million extension that now makes Lamb the second highest-paid non-QB in league history behind Justin Jefferson. Lamb will receive $100 million guaranteed and a $38 million signing bonus (a record for wide receivers). Lamb has caught 395 passes for 5,145 yards and 32 receiving touchdowns in four years with the Cowboys.
