Following its limited theatrical release over the weekend at AMC Theatres, Eminem’s highly anticipated Stans documentary is heading to the small screen on Aug. 26. Centered around “the complicated relationship between one of the world’s most private artists and his massive public persona,” the film arrives on Paramount+ on Aug. 26. Eminem is co-producing the project through his Shady Films entertainment banner.

Adidas and the University of Tennessee announced a massive 10-year partnership on Wednesday, set to begin July 1, 2026. This agreement sees Three Stripes becoming the official footwear, uniform, apparel, and sideline partner for all 20 of UT’s varsity athletic programs, while also including a significant NIL component. While partnered with Adidas from 1995-2014, the Volunteers enjoyed one of the most successful runs in the program’s history, including its most recent football national championship (1998) and back-to-back women’s basketball national championships (2007-2008).

Kendrick Lamar’s fourth studio album DAMN. continues to be in rotation for fans since its 2017 release, officially eclipsing 10 billion streams on Spotify. DAMN. debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 603,000 album-equivalent units in its first week and also earned K-Dot the Best Rap Album at the 2018 Grammy Awards. One of the album’s most prestigious honors was making history as the first non-classical or jazz album to win a Pulitzer Prize in 2018.

Canadian manufacturer Gildan Activewear is acquiring American undergarments maker HanesBrands for $2.2 billion in cash and stock, the companies announced Wednesday. Including debt, the purchase now values HanesBrands at $4.4 billion. Once the deal closes, HanesBrands shareholders will receive 0.102 common shares of Gildan and 80 cents in cash for each share of HanesBrands common stock. They will also own roughly 19.9% of Gildan stock.

VICE Sports and Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions are launching a new ManningCast-esque series in partnership with NFL Films called NFL Classics: After Further Review. Premiering Sept. 3 on VICE TV, the six-part series hosted by NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt revisits six iconic games in pro football history with commentary from legends who played in the matchups and celebrity fans. Episode 1 begins with Michael Irvin and Emmitt Smith reminiscing on the 1995 NFC Championship between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers.

The University of Kansas received a massive $300 million gift on Wednesday, courtesy of alumnus David Booth, co-founder and chairman of Dimensional Fund Advisors. Not only is it the largest in school history, it is among the largest single contributions in all of college sports. The funds will be used to support the school’s football stadium renovation and complex construction. KU’s David Booth Memorial Stadium, named in honor of the benefactor, will see its first phase completed by the end of August.

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) is expanding to four cities. Beginning in October, the ABFF Pop-Up Tour starts in New York City, followed by stops in Atlanta and Dallas in November before wrapping up in Los Angeles in December. Attendees can expect award-winning independent films, chats featuring their favorite celebs, and curated panels, including BOB Talks, a unique speaker series spotlighting Black-owned brands.

In just one year, the United States added $1 trillion to its national debt, bringing the total to a record $37 trillion, per the latest Treasury Department report. Back in January 2020, the Congressional Budget Office estimated the gross federal debt would surpass $37 trillion after fiscal year 2030. However, the deficit increased at a rate significantly faster than anticipated due to the multi-year COVID-19 pandemic, which closed much of the U.S. economy and forced the government to borrow in excess.

Carolina Hurricanes owner Tom Dundon told CNBC that he has reached an agreement to purchase the Portland Trail Blazers from the estate of late owner Paul Allen. Chairman and managing partner of Dundon Capital Partners, Dundon is also a majority owner of the Pro Pickleball Association and Major League Pickleball. Financial terms were not disclosed. 

The Grand Egyptian Museum, the world’s largest archaeological institution, is finally opening to the public on Nov. 1. Home to over 100,000 artifacts, some of the relics expected to be on display include a massive 3,200-year-old statue of Ramses II upon entering and for the first time, King Tutankhamun’s complete tomb collection since its discovery in 1922.
