Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers Top NFLPA Offseason Merch Sales List

Reigning NFL and Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes sits atop the NFLPA Top 50 Player Offseason Sales list. However, he isn’t the only QB in the top five. Coming in at No. 2 is New York Jets slinger Aaron Rodgers and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals sits at No. 3. Rounding out the top five are Micah Parsons and Travis Kelce, becoming the first linebacker and tight end to simultaneously crack the top five since the list’s inception in 2014. Want more history? National Cycling League Introduces Boardroom as Investor

The National Cycling League (NCL) — the first professional league of its kind — announced Wednesday that Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman’s Boardroom Sports Holdings, former NFL wide Desmond Howard and DraftKings CEO Jason Robbins are new investors in the league.  The first professional cycling league of its kind announced Wednesday that Boardroom — along with former NFL wide Desmond Howard and DraftKings CEO Jason Robbins — is a new investor. “We’re excited to be a part of the National Cycling League and its fan-focused business model,” Kleiman said in a statement. “We’re committed to helping the league grow and get even more eyes on the sport.” With more than 50 million cyclists in America, the NCL’s mission is to increase the joy and enthusiasm for cycling among the next generation of supporters while reducing the knowledge barrier through the inclusion of a scoreboard and establishing a league structure like those of other professional sports.

Slimy Super Bowl: Nickelodeon to Air Alternate Telecast for SBLVIII

There will be an alternate telecast of the Super Bowl for the first time ever this season, and those with children should get ready to see a lot of slime. Nickelodeon is partnering with CBS Sports to produce their own family-centric Super Bowl broadcast on Feb. 11, 2024, it was announced Tuesday. This will be the fourth year Nickelodeon has broadcast an NFL game in some form, although the games have either been on Christmas or during the playoffs. Since CBS, one of Nickelodeon’s sister companies, has broadcast rights to the Super Bowl this year, this venture makes sense. Nickelodeon is now scheduled to air two NFL alternate broadcasts during the 2023-24 campaign, as it will also air the Nickelodeon NFL Nickmas Game at 1 p.m. ET on Christmas when the Las Vegas Raiders take on the Kansas City Chiefs.

Cardi B & Jay-Z Inspire Special Hip-hop Menu From Sei Less

Revered New York City eatery Sei Less will debut a special menu in commemoration of hip-hop‘s 50th anniversary. Honoring songs, albums, and musicians who have contributed to the genre’s growth, Sei Less developed appetizers, entrees, desserts, and cocktails as a prix-fixe meal for $50. One dish — Beijing chicken — pays homage to Cardi B’s Billboard No. 1 hit “I Like It,” and is a nod to a past meal she had while dining at the Asian fusion spot. “I Know What You Want” by Busta Rhymes appears on the dessert offerings in the form of a double chocolate mousse with chocolate sauce. On the drink menu are cocktails named after notable albums from Jay-Z and Diddy. Dubbed The Blueprint and The Saga Continues, the beverages feature the rappers’ liquor brands D’usse and Deleon.

PGA Tour Taps Tiger Woods for Policy Board in Wake of LIV Drama

For the first time in his 27 years on the tour, Tiger Woods has joined the PGA Tour policy board, offering Commissioner Jay Monahan much-needed support as he seeks to rebuild trust while moving forward with talks to align with LIV Golf. The revelation comes one day after Monahan allegedly received a letter from 41 players calling for a review of the Tour’s power structure. As the sixth player director, Woods’ addition marks the first time players have outnumbered the five independent directors on the board. The 12th board member is the PGA of America President, John Lindert. In a statement, Woods said he looks forward to being at the table with Monahan to make the right decisions for the future of golf.

One Up Becomes Official On-demand Esports Platform of NBA 2K

One Up, an on-demand esports organization democratizing how video game tournaments are accessed and organized, announced a multi-year deal with Take-Two Interactive’s 2K label to become an official on-demand esports platform for the NBA 2K franchise on Tuesday. The partnership is scheduled to begin next month, shortly after NBA 2K24 drops on Sept. 8. To celebrate the occasion, One Up will host a series of free-to-enter online competitions hosted by NBA stars, where both fans and seasoned NBA2K gamers can partake. With this alliance, NBA 2K and One Up want to allow amateur gamers to also participate and hopefully win competitive gaming tournaments in the future.
