NFL Annual Revenue Reaches $13 Billion, Up 115% Over Last Decade

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has great news for all 32 teams. Sportico reports that the NFL reached a new national revenue high of $13 billion in 2023, resulting in payouts of over $400 million to each franchise. This massive money haul, up 115% over the last decade, comes from earnings tied to media rights, league sponsorships, and royalties stemming from the league’s various subsidiaries and affiliates. The news comes on the heels of the NFL being ordered to pay nearly $5 billion to fans and establishments in the Sunday Ticket trial.

Shaboozey Makes Billboard History After Reaching No. 1 on Hot 100 List

Crossover country hits are taking over in 2024. Following chart-topping success from the likes of Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Morgan Wallen, and Post Malone, Shaboozey has hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100 list with his hit, “A Bar Song (Tipsy).” Interpolating the 2004 J-Kwon club classic, Shaboozey’s single not only places him among Billboard‘s best but also in the history books as the first Black man to top the Hot 100 and Hot Country lists simultaneously.

Paramount & Skydance's $8B Merger Could Lead to $2B in Cost Cuts

Paramount Global will soon officially have a new home in Skydance Media. After the two sides agree to a reported $8 billion merger that will see Skydance attempt to reinvigorate the Paramount umbrella, which includes CBS, Nickelodeon, Paramount+, and more, Skydance executives have found areas in which they can save at least $2 billion in cost cuts. Additionally, Paramount is expected to sell off some of its properties, such as BET Media Group, which has been targeted by a group of buyers that includes BET CEO Scott Mills.

Doja Cat & Dua Lipa Set to Headline 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival Lineup

Sin City is set to scorch this September, as Doja Cat and Dua Lipa have both been added to the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Festival lineup. The two-day event hosted by Ryan Seacrest will take place at T-Mobile Arena on Sept. 20-21. Doja and Dua join the likes of Big Sean, Camila Cabello, Gwen Stefani, Hozier, Paramore, Victoria Monét, and more, set to take the iHeartRadio stage in Las Vegas.

JJ Redick Leaves Podcast; ThreeFourTwo Productions to Remain Operational During Lakers Tenure

Newly named Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick will put his media career on pause as he focuses his full attention on the upcoming season. The podcast pro and ThreeFourTwo Productions co-founder announced his expected departure from the storytelling platform, thanking fans for their continued support. Redick also assured listeners that the company will remain alive and well during this new chapter of his career, teasing that a “massive interview” would be released on the production company’s page this week.

Playboi Carti Debuts New Music in Germany, Promises New Album is Coming Soon

Since December, Playboi Carti has been teasing the much-anticipated follow-up to 2020’s Whole Lotta Red. Over the weekend at Splash! Music Festival in Germany, the ominous Opium leader let fans know his next project is very much on the way. “I promise you the album is coming,” a pre-recorded voice said during the set according to Complex, “so it’s only right that I come here tonight and give you a world premiere.” From there, King Vamp debuted “All Red” and “G-Wagon” — two new songs yet to hit streaming.
